The mysterious ninja using Magnet Release arrived at the campfire, turning the iron sand into countless senbon, which rained down on Tori.
“This…” Tori was shocked and immediately realized, “His target isn’t Hyuga Kyo, it’s me!”
With Tori’s abilities, there was no way he could dodge such a dense shower of senbon. Despite his quick maneuvers, he was struck by dozens of senbon in the blink of an eye.
Compared to Shuriken and Kunai, the season’s power was much less, so even though Tori’s body was riddled with senbon, he wasn’t dead yet.

To him, it seemed like Hyuga Kyo didn’t care about the mysterious ninja, and the enigmatic ninja didn’t mind Hyuga Kyo’s indifference.

After finishing his food and wiping the ink off his hands, Hyuga Kyo put away the Third Kazekage puppet and carried Tori’s body to the nearest Konoha outpost.
Upon arrival, he told the Chunin in charge, “I was attacked by bounty hunters. In the fight, this Root colleague was unfortunately caught in the crossfire. Send his body back to the village and report the situation to Lord Hokage.”
Seeing Tori’s lifeless body, the Chunin looked troubled.
In Konoha, even elites like Shisui and Hyuga Kyo were reluctant to deal with the Root, so it was no surprise that ordinary ninjas wanted to stay away from Danzo’s Root.

After giving a few more instructions, Hyuga Kyo left the outpost.
Returning Tori’s body to the village openly was much better than disposing of it quietly for Hyuga Kyo.
Firstly, the village’s high-ranking officials knew the bounty on his head. He had just been attacked by bounty hunters that day, so blaming Tori’s death on bounty hunters was plausible.
Secondly, it sent a message to Danzo.
As for Danzo’s reaction, Hyuga Kyo didn’t care.
Danzo was not someone who would let you off just because you submitted. In the original timeline, despite Shisui’s compliance, he was still robbed of one Mangekyo Sharingan and forced to commit suicide.
Even if Hyuga Kyo had submitted it now, Danzo wouldn’t have spared him. Even if Hyuga Kyo had initially accepted Danzo’s invitation to join the Root, Danzo would still have branded him with the Curse Root Seal because Danzo trusted no one, not even his closest subordinates.
