Ninja School Teacher, I Can Become Stronger by Teaching Chapter 10

Mokutsuki: Yes, You Guys Really Hit the Jackpot

Watching Mokutsuki’s incredibly swift and clean Whirlwind Kick, Might Guy’s eyes instantly lit up. He felt like he had found the taijutsu of his dreams, perfectly fulfilling all his fantasies about taijutsu.

It was simple, fast, powerful, and also very cool.

“I love it! Please be sure to teach me this!” Guy expressed his satisfaction with the Leaf Whirlwind with great enthusiasm.

“As long as you like it,” Mokutsuki smiled and nodded.

Guy’s reaction was within his expectations. After all, Guy himself developed this taijutsu, creating an entire series of techniques like Dynamic Entry and Leaf Great Whirlwind. It would be strange if he didn’t like it.

With Mokutsuki’s promise, both Obito and Guy were very happy, and even the test papers they usually found dreadful seemed much more pleasant.

“Watch me go all out this time! I’ll definitely get more than four correct answers!” Obito was so excited he started rubbing his hands together as if he was about to get into a fight.

“I must get more than three correct answers, or else I’ll run five hundred laps around Konoha tonight!” Guy, eager to learn his dream taijutsu, decided to self-impose a strict discipline.

He planned to challenge Kakashi to a match once he learned this taijutsu to see how much his skills had improved.

However, the sudden surge of enthusiasm faded quickly. After answering a few questions, Obito realised one thing: when he was desperate, he might be able to release a larger Fireball Jutsu or throw five shurikens accurately in one go, but when it came to questions, desperation didn’t help at all.

He propped his head up with one hand and played with his pen in various ways with the other. Frustrated, he even found the swaying green leaves outside the window annoying, feeling as if they were mocking him for not being able to solve the questions.

Obito couldn’t help but glance at Guy.

Although they had been classmates for over three years and shared a mutual friend in Kakashi, they never really played together, and their relationship was quite ordinary.

They weren’t strangers, but they weren’t really friends either. They were more like acquaintances who happened to be in the same class.

When Obito thinks about Guy, his first thought is that Guy is a failure.

Although he was also called a failure, Obito believed he was lacking in some areas. He was decent at ninjutsu and shuriken throwing, but his theoretical knowledge could have been better.

It was just that other Uchiha were so outstanding in everything that his imperfections made him seem like a failure.

But Guy was different. Guy was poor in both theory and ninjutsu, ranking at the bottom in most subjects, making him the acknowledged failure.

But now, Guy was showing more patience than Obito. Even though he was scratching his head in frustration, Guy was still earnestly trying to solve the problems.

Obito recalled a bold declaration Guy made once when he was being mocked.

“I believe that if I keep working hard, I will become the strongest taijutsu user!”

Although Obito wasn’t among those who laughed at Guy, he had also thought it was unlikely that Guy would become the strongest taijutsu user.

But now his thoughts were changing. Whether Guy would become the strongest taijutsu user was uncertain, but he would definitely be much stronger than those who mocked him.

“Maybe being friends with him wouldn’t be so bad,” Obito muttered, thinking they could join forces against that annoying Kakashi.

Seeing Guy diligently working on the questions, Obito also began writing, racking his brains.

Watching this, Mokutsuki had a thoughtful expression.

He hadn’t expected these two to have such a synergistic effect on each other. The guy’s influence made Obito calm down and focus on his work even when he was usually restless.

In the future, Mokutsuki could use similar methods to motivate Obito to train.

After they finished their work, Mokutsuki corrected their answers.

Obito got three questions correct, while Guy got two.

“Still not four correct answers. I really tried my best,” Obito said, slumping over the desk, feeling exhausted.

“Adding five hundred laps to my training plan tonight,” Guy incorporated his failure penalty into his training regimen.

Mokutsuki comforted them, “You’re only five questions away from passing, and you improved by one question in just an hour. Doesn’t that sound much better?”

Thinking about it that way, Obito and Guy felt a lot more hopeful. Passing the test and learning new techniques seemed very achievable.

After reassuring them, Mokutsuki brought out two more test papers.

Seeing the fresh test papers on the desk, and considering there were still three weekends before the exam, Obito felt a wave of dizziness but could only pick up his pen and continue.

Meanwhile, Shisui, having recovered his chakra, resumed his fire jutsu practice, with fire dragons constantly flying in the sky, capturing Obito’s attention.

“Teacher Hanyu, if we learn your techniques, does that mean we’re your disciples like Shisui?” Obito asked after some thought.

“If you want to be, then you are,” Mokutsuki replied ambiguously.

“Hehe, since we’ll eventually be your disciples, why not start teaching us now?” Obito revealed his true intentions.

Mokutsuki looked at him suspiciously. Although this outcome was part of his plan, Obito’s act was a bit too transparent.

Obito patted his chest and promised, “Teacher Hanyu, I’m not trying to avoid studying. I think we can do both at the same time.”

Obito then nudged Guy, “Right, Guy?”

“Teacher, I think Obito is right,” Guy also wanted to learn the Leaf Whirlwind as soon as possible to challenge Kakashi.

“What if you don’t pass the test?” Mokutsuki asked instead of agreeing right away.

“Then whatever you say goes, Teacher. I’ll listen to you,” Obito was confident he could pass.

“Me too,” Guy nodded in agreement.

“Hmm…” Mokutsuki pretended to think it over, looking hesitant.

“Teacher Hanyu, please trust us. We won’t let you down,” Obito urged.

“Me too,” Guy echoed, clenching his fist.

“Alright then, I believe you’ll follow through. Finish this test paper, and I’ll teach you the Dragon Flame Jutsu and Leaf Whirlwind,” Mokutsuki finally agreed, appearing convinced.

“Great! I knew you were the best, Teacher Hanyu! I won’t let you down,” Obito exclaimed excitedly, thinking he was incredibly lucky today. He had improved his theoretical knowledge and found an awesome teacher for free—he hit the jackpot.

“Teacher Hanyu, I’ll work hard on your taijutsu!” The guy promised seriously.

He also felt lucky today to find someone willing to teach him taijutsu.

[Do you wish to establish a teacher-student relationship with Uchiha Obito?]

[Do you wish to establish a teacher-student relationship with Might Guy?]

Seeing the two prompts, Mokutsuki smiled with satisfaction. Yes, they really did hit the jackpot.
