“Good morning, Teacher Mokutsuki.”
“Mmm, good morning, Teacher Kubo.”
“Teacher Mokutsuki, have you had breakfast yet? Want to grab a bite after the meeting?”
“I’ve already eaten, thank you.”
This morning, perhaps the news of Mokutsuki’s promotion to Special Jonin had spread among the teachers, and many more people greeted him than usual.
Luckily, Mokutsuki’s memory was excellent now. He could remember the names of almost everyone he had interacted with, responding with ease.
The first meeting of the new term was a general assembly for all teachers held in the lecture hall.
However, this time, the Third Hokage did not attend; it was led by the head of the teachers’ group.
“The new semester is starting. I hope everyone continues to work hard in their teaching duties and strives to cultivate excellent ninjas for the village,” the head of the teachers’ group said.
The head of the teachers’ group seemed to be a reasonably ordinary leader, speaking in a way that reminded Mokutsuki of the school leaders’ speeches from his previous life—whether valid or not, they were undoubtedly dull.
The first meeting didn’t contain much substantial content. It mostly showcased examples of excellent teachers from the previous term for everyone to learn from and also announced significant personnel changes.
“Teacher Mokutsuki will be taking on the role of the first-grade head teacher, responsible for the teaching arrangements of the first grade,” the head of the teachers’ group said with a beaming smile.
“Teacher Mokutsuki is an outstanding teacher at our ninja academy. During the vacation, he worked tirelessly to train students and is a role model for everyone.”
Mokutsuki stood up and responded briefly.
The teachers applauded warmly, with no one surprised by the announcement.
Apart from the Third Hokage, who was the honorary principal, Mokutsuki was now one of the three Jonins at the Ninja Academy, and he was promoted to Special Jonin for his outstanding teaching abilities. The promotion was entirely expected.
“Congratulations on your promotion, Jonin Mokutsuki,” Teacher Kimura said playfully.
“Yes, Jonin Mokutsuki, rising from an ordinary teacher to a head teacher in one semester is really enviable,” Teacher Kubo said with a smile.
Teacher Ueda also joined in.
They were all from the same small office and had a good relationship, at least on the surface.
“Just call me Mokutsuki like before. Adding Jonin to my name feels weird, and it’s not like I’m a full Jonin, just a Special Jonin,” Mokutsuki replied with a warm smile.
“Special Jonin is still Jonin, but calling you Mokutsuki does feel more comfortable,” Kubo said with a grin.
“Teacher Mokutsuki, we have to celebrate your promotion and pay raise. Let’s go to the izakaya tonight; it’s on me,” Kubo invited. He still had quite a bit left from his previous bonus, so he was feeling generous.
“I’m in too,” Kimura said, putting an arm around Kubo’s shoulders.
“Sure, you can come, but you’ll pay for yourself.”
“So Mokutsuki is invited and I pay for myself?” Kimura said, playfully putting Kubo in a headlock.
“Alright, alright, I’ll treat you too,” Kubo agreed, remembering the times Kimura had helped him out financially.
“And what about me?” Ueda asked.
Then Ueda raised her voice, mimicking a flirtatious tone, making Kubo shiver and quickly agree to include everyone.
Mokutsuki smiled and nodded.
He didn’t mind occasional small gatherings with colleagues he had a decent relationship with. However, since Mokutsuki’s main body was often busy, he usually sent a shadow clone in his place. With Kubo and the others’ levels, they couldn’t tell the difference.
In the afternoon, Mokutsuki attended another meeting, this one a smaller one held in a conference room with only the grade heads and the director of education.
The director of education was also the head of the teachers’ group.
This meeting had a lot more substantial content, mainly about deciding the teaching arrangements for the term.
“Director Shimoya, I have an idea that could alleviate the teachers’ workload,” Mokutsuki said.
Everyone turned to look at Mokutsuki. Although he was a newcomer, no one dared to underestimate him. He was a teacher highly regarded by the Third Hokage.
Shimoya Kyushin smiled and nodded, “The teachers’ workload is indeed heavy. The schedule is very full. What’s your idea, Teacher Mokutsuki?”
“Integrate classes for large-group instruction,” Mokutsuki suggested.
“Combine the same courses from two or more classes into one time slot and have one teacher instruct them all. Originally, three classes would require three teachers, but with large-group instruction, only one teacher is needed.”
The teachers in the room looked thoughtful. Mokutsuki’s idea sounded reasonably practical and could indeed reduce the teachers’ burden.
“Will this affect the quality of the students’ learning?” Shimoya Kyushin asked after some thought.
It sounded good, but could one teacher handle so many students?
Even if the teachers were under pressure, the quality of the student’s education couldn’t be compromised.
“I have already tried large-group instruction during the summer training, and the results were quite good. The students made significant progress,” Mokutsuki explained with a smile.
Two of the grade heads had gone with the Third Hokage to observe the summer training.
“Indeed, I remember you divided the students into three groups for instruction, right?” one of the grade heads said.
“Yes, there were a total of 359 students. I divided them into three groups based on their progress,” Mokutsuki replied.
“We could start by piloting this in the first grade and only with theory classes,” Mokutsuki suggested.
He had already prepared his arguments, anticipating various scenarios. So far, everything was within his expectations.
“Only in the first grade and only for theory classes…” Shimoya Kyushin pondered for a while and found it feasible.
The first grade was still far from graduation, so experimenting for a term wouldn’t be too risky. Even if the theory classes didn’t go well, it was acceptable as long as practical skills weren’t affected.
“Then this task will be yours, Teacher Mokutsuki,” Shimoya Kyushin finally agreed.

Now, he just needed to arrange more large-group classes for himself, boost the strength of Class 1A, and quickly gain another wave of rewards. With Obito securing first place in the training task, his strength would soon see a significant increase.

Danzo didn’t think much of it. As a high-ranking official of Konoha, it was customary for the Third Hokage to discuss matters with him.
