“Finally…”
“Finally finished!” Obito couldn’t help but cheer after completing the last of his assignments.
After battling for more than ten days, he had finally finished his installment assignments. From today, he wouldn’t have to do daily assignments anymore.
“What’s finished, Uchiha Obito? What are you yelling about? Get up and answer the question!” Ikeya Isamu said, annoyed by Obito’s outburst.
To his surprise, Obito answered correctly, so Ikeya Isamu reluctantly nodded and let Obito sit down and continue listening to the lesson.
“Rin, let’s go out tonight!” Obito said with a grin as he sat down.
“Tonight? Tomorrow’s Saturday. How about we go out tomorrow?” Rin Nohara suggested.
“What? Is it the weekend already?” Obito’s eyes widened in shock.
He had just finished his installment assignments, and now it was the weekend, which meant more assignments.
“Obito, have you been so immersed in studying that you’ve lost track of time? Today is Friday,” Rin joked.
She had noticed Obito’s recent efforts, which were very different from before.
“Finally, the weekend is here. It feels like class time goes by so slowly, and the weekend passes in the blink of an eye.”
“Yeah, those semester breaks feel shorter than these five school days.”
Obito: …
Human emotions are not interconnected; he just found them noisy.
He felt like the time from Monday to Friday was stolen, and every time he became aware, it was almost Friday afternoon, leading to an extremely long weekend.
“Rin, let’s go out tonight. I have training tomorrow, and I might not have much energy in the evening,” Obito said wearily.
With the final exams approaching, weekend training was even more challenging than before.
Previously, he could use the forest terrain to maneuver during battles with Might Guy, but later they were placed on flat ground, relying solely on speed and agility.
So, Obito decided to go out with Rin tonight. Friday’s training was relatively light.
“Alright, then tonight it is. After school, we’ll have dinner, and then we’ll go find Kakashi,” Rin agreed.
Obito wanted to ask why Kakashi had to join but couldn’t bring himself to ask.
“Maybe she thinks no one plays with Kakashi, so she’s bringing him along,” Obito thought.
After school, Obito went to the training ground as usual, still the last to arrive.
As before, they started with various physical exercises: push-ups, pull-ups, squats, and so on.
After a certain amount of time training, it was time for the battle.
“I’m changing the battle rules today,” Mokutsuki said, calling Might Guy and Obito together.
“For each hit on the opponent, the opponent adds two questions, and you deduct one question. The battle time is seven minutes.”
“Two questions per hit, and it’s seven minutes.” Obito could almost see an ocean of questions flooding towards him.
Previously, each hit only added one question, and the battle lasted five minutes. This was a super increase.
The only benefit was that each hit on the opponent deducted one question. If he hit enough times, he wouldn’t have to ask any questions.
The problem was that he had been at a disadvantage in previous battles!
He was glad he had the foresight to plan an outing with Rin tonight.
With this intensity, the weekend would be exhausting, taking several days to recover.
“Sharingan, Sharingan,” Obito kept muttering, desperately hoping to awaken the Uchiha bloodline limit.
“Mokutsuki-sensei, what about the fifty questions I start with?” Might Guy be asked expectantly?
“Reduced to forty questions,” Mokutsuki replied.
For balance, they couldn’t remove it entirely because Guy’s taijutsu was much stronger than Obito’s.
Although not entirely canceled, ten questions were still a significant reduction, making Guy quite happy.
“And you can offset questions with training, up to sixty percent. Three hundred push-ups can offset one question, and other exercises can also be used,” Mokutsuki added.
Adding two questions per hit would quickly inflate the number of questions, so Mokutsuki decided to allow training to offset questions to manage the inflation.
After all, the purpose of the questions was to improve their learning and knowledge, not purely as a punishment.
He had to explain those questions, not just have them do them and be done.
“Offsetting sixty percent.” Obito’s eyes lit up at this, but hearing three hundred push-ups per question felt overwhelming.
“Three hundred push-ups for one question? Hahaha!” Might Guy burst out laughing, confident he could easily reach the sixty percent limit?
Seeing Guy laughing hysterically, Obito, inspired by the thought of a sea of questions, calmly said:
“Mokutsuki-sensei, this doesn’t seem right. Using training to offset questions should help us train better, so it should depend on individual progress, not a fixed number.”
He didn’t want to be the only one asking a bunch of questions.
“Obito, you make a good point. Guy, for you, it’ll be one thousand push-ups per question,” Mokutsuki said after some thought.
Might Guy looked at Obito in disbelief, his smile frozen.
“Guy, I know you want better training. No need to thank me,” Obito said with a thumbs-up and a smile.
“Hmm, Obito, you must also be eager for an all-out battle,” Guy began warming up, preparing to fight at full intensity.
Seven minutes later, the battle ended.
“Obito, one hundred questions. Guy, twenty questions,” Mokutsuki announced.
“Obito, I know you want more questions to study. No need to thank me,” Guy said, flashing his bright smile and thumbs-up.
Obito suddenly wanted to slap himself from seven minutes ago. What was he thinking? Now, they both lost.
There were too many questions to finish in one day, so he had to offset some with training and split the rest into installments.
Since Rin said they were going to find Kakashi, Obito asked Guy if he wanted to join.
It wasn’t a date with just him and Rin anymore, and Guy was also good friends with Kakashi.
To Obito’s surprise, Guy declined, saying he had agreed to go for a night run with Shisui.
However, they did run into each other later in the evening while Obito and his friends were out.
“Shisui, trust me, try my type of tight-fitting clothes. They’re perfect for training,” Guy was trying to convince Shisui to wear the green jumpsuit.
Shisui looked at Guy, striking a pose and imagining himself in the green jumpsuit. He quickly shook his head, refusing. It was too strange.
“Who’s that next to Guy?” Kakashi asked, looking at the unfamiliar figure beside Guy.
“He’s a genius of the Uchiha clan, even more talented than you,” Obito said deliberately.
“Heh, so what are you, the tail end of the Uchiha?” Kakashi replied indifferently.
