Boom!
The heavy city gate emitted a loud, dull thud. Dust that had accumulated on the gate for years fell in a cascade. The bearded pirate, who weighed several hundred pounds, crashed against the gate, creating a small gap.
“You…”
Drake and the dozen Marine officers behind him stared wide-eyed and open-mouthed as Rosha calmly withdrew his right hand, his cold gaze sweeping over the remaining pirate guards.
“Damn it! How dare you attack us? You’re asking for death!”
The remaining pirates, stunned by the sudden turn of events, snapped back to their senses. Enraged, they drew their weapons and charged at Rosha and Drake’s group.
Drake, still in a daze, hissed urgently to Rosha, “Hey, kid, weren’t we supposed to sneak in disguised as pirates? What are you doing? If this escalates, our mission…”
“Captain Decker, what is our current identity?” Rosha asked flatly, his gaze fixed coldly on the seven or eight armored pirates rushing towards them.
“Pirates…?” Drake replied, bewildered.
“That’s right, we’re pirates,” Rosha confirmed, stepping forward to meet the charging pirates.
“And as pirates, our actions should be…”
“Arrogant!”
Rosha’s right hand clenched into a fist. He sidestepped an incoming spear thrust and punched the attacking pirate squarely in the chest.
Boom!
The iron chestplate caved in with a clear imprint of Rosha’s fist. The immense force sent the unfortunate pirate flying.
Rosha’s lips curled into a smile as blood vessels appeared in his eyes. He struck out with lightning speed, landing several punches on three more pirates.
Boom! Boom! Boom!
The three pirates, their mouths wide open in shock, felt their internal organs churn and rupture under the force of Rosha’s punches. The tremendous impact knocked them unconscious before they could scream, their bodies flying back and crashing into the city gate, one after another.
The series of thuds from their collisions with the gate caused it to creak open slowly, and the crossbar broke under the repeated impacts.
“Alright, we can go in now,” Rosha called back to the stunned group behind him.
Drake’s lips twitched. Where was the subtle entrance they had planned?
“Hehe, what an interesting young man. Perhaps he’s right. Since we’re posing as pirates, we shouldn’t be too cautious,” Peacock laughed, following Rosha through the gate.
Drake and the other officers exchanged looks before quickly following suit.
“Who dares cause trouble on my turf?”
They had barely stepped inside when a thunderous roar echoed. The open gate revealed dozens of burly pirates. Unlike the previous guards, these pirates wore no disguises and openly displayed their pirate status.
The roaring pirate was a massive giant, over three meters tall, with layers of fat that jiggled with his every word. He held a bone with meat in one hand, grease dripping from his mouth as he ate.
Scanning Rosha’s group with his bulging eyes, he grabbed one of the writhing guards off the ground. “Explain yourself.”
The pirate, terrified at the sight of the giant, stammered, “L-Lord Terrell, they said they were from the SWORD Pirates and wanted to enter the city.”
“SWORD Pirates?” Terrell scratched his cheek with a finger as thick as a carrot. “Is there such a pirate crew in the North Blue?”
“We’ve never heard of them either, so we didn’t open the gate. Then that silver-haired guy attacked us.”
Pointing a trembling finger at Rosha, the pirate’s face was filled with resentment.
“Oh, really?” Terrell turned to Rosha, his enormous, greasy face nearly touching Rosha’s. A stench of sweat and alcohol assaulted Rosha’s nose.
Rosha grinned, revealing a row of white teeth. “You idiots, I just wanted you to open the gate. They were the ones who underestimated us and attacked first, thinking the SWORD Pirates were pushovers.”
Terrell sniffed and looked back at the pirate in his grasp. “Is that true? Did you attack first?”
The pirate’s face turned pale, and he hurriedly tried to explain, “Lord Terrell, it’s not like that. The silver-haired man attacked first. We only said a few things about their captain. That guy with the black eyepatch is their captain, Decker.”
Black eyepatch hooligan? A vein throbbed on Drake’s forehead.
Terrell looked at him. “Is that so? Are you the captain of the SWORD Pirates, Decker?”
Drake nodded reluctantly. “Yes, I…”
“Kill him.”
Terrell’s voice was a deep rumble.
“Yes, Lord Terrell!” The pirates behind him, who had been eyeing Drake’s group with hostility, immediately charged forward, weapons drawn.
“You think I’m an easy target?” Drake, fuming from earlier insults, drew his weapons and met the charging pirates head-on. The other officers relieved that they finally had a clear objective, joined the fray with vigor.
Meanwhile, Terrell looked down at Rosha. “So, you attacked first, right? Is that it?”
“Yes, Lord Terrell, he was the one who…” The pirate’s head, along with his helmet, was suddenly crushed by Terrell’s massive hand, spraying blood and brain matter.
Terrell lifted the crushed head to his face. “Did I ask you to speak? Answer me, you rude bastard!”
Watching Terrell shake the lifeless body, Rosha frowned and glanced at Peacock. “Who is this guy? He seems a bit unhinged.”
“He’s Terrell the Brute from the Gigantic Bug Pirates. His bounty is… about 59 million Beli,” Peacock replied.
Before she could finish, a large shadow loomed over them.
“Bastard! Who are you calling fat?!”
