One Piece Admiral Silver Fox Chapter 38

Gion and Gake

After breakfast and some banter with Gasparde, Foxy headed to the residence of the officers. Along the way, he asked two marines for directions. The place he arrived at was a three-story villa with a front and back yard, fenced all around. The front yard was lush with green grass and various plants and flowers.

Since they would be leaving the next day, Foxy came to bid farewell to Tsuru. It seemed he hadn’t seen her since she enrolled him in the academy. He rang the doorbell and waited.

After about three minutes, the door opened, but it wasn’t Tsuru who answered. Instead, it was a beautiful woman. She had long, flowing black hair, eyes like black gems, and cherry lips painted with bright red lipstick, accompanied by a beauty mark that added to her sultry charm. She also possessed an impressive figure.

She wore shorts and a sleep shirt, revealing long, shapely legs and delicate feet peeking out from her slippers. She appeared to be in her early twenties.

Foxy took a step back, checking the sign on the door to make sure he was at the right place.

“Who are you looking for?” she asked, her voice soft and pleasant.

“I’m here to see Vice Admiral Tsuru,” Foxy replied, catching a whiff of her fragrance, which sent his heart fluttering.

“Are you Foxy?” the woman asked, looking him up and down.

“And you are?” Foxy inquired.

“I’m Gion, Tsuru’s sister,” she introduced herself.

“Gion?” Foxy was momentarily stunned, feeling as if he had heard the name before but couldn’t quite place it.

“Come in. She went to headquarters but should be back if she doesn’t have important duties,” Gion said, opening the gate and leading him inside.

Foxy followed her, his eyes occasionally drifting to her graceful figure. He shook his head to clear his thoughts and silently chanted a mantra to calm himself.

The house was spacious and clean. “Have a seat,” Gion gestured to the sofa before yawning and heading to the kitchen. She returned with two glasses of juice and sat across from Foxy, crossing her legs.

“I’ve heard about you. You’re quite brave,” she said, looking at Foxy, who struggled to meet her gaze.

“Heh,” Foxy scratched his head, still wondering about Tsuru’s sister.

“What brings you here?” Gion asked, brushing her hair back in a way that made Foxy’s heart race again.

“Zefa-sensei is taking us away tomorrow, so I came to say goodbye,” Foxy explained.

“Zefa-sensei? Leaving?” Gion’s long eyelashes fluttered as if recalling some unpleasant memory.

“Yeah,” Foxy nodded.

“Be careful then. I hope we meet again,” Gion said, her eyes filled with an odd mix of pity and sympathy.

Before Gion could elaborate, a voice called from outside. “Gion! Gion!”

Ignoring the voice, Gion continued, “If I’m not mistaken, Zefa-sensei will take you to the Calm Belt and leave you on an island with wild beasts to fend for yourselves for two months.”

“The Calm Belt? An island with wild beasts?” Foxy felt his heart sink.

“Gion! Gion!” The voice outside persisted.

“Yes. The wild beasts are manageable if you’re careful, but the harsh weather on some islands can be the real challenge,” Gion warned.

“Did you train under Zefa-sensei too?” Foxy asked.

“I was in the previous class,” she nodded, smiling.

“Gion! Gion!” The voice was louder now.

“Who’s outside?” Foxy asked, glancing at the door.

“Such a bother,” Gion sighed, standing up. Foxy followed her outside, curious.

In the front yard stood a short, stout man with a hat. His small eyes gave him an untrustworthy look. Dressed in a suit and tie, he held a bouquet, seemingly in the middle of a romantic proposal.

“Gion, be my girlfriend!” the man said, extending the flowers toward Gion.

“I refuse,” Gion replied without hesitation, cutting him off mid-sentence. Her decisiveness took Foxy aback.

“My heart,” the man clutched his chest dramatically, staggering back a couple of steps. Foxy thought he was about to play the sympathy card, but the man quickly recovered.

Turning on his heel, he tipped his hat and said, “I’ll try again next time.”

As he began to leave, he suddenly noticed Foxy. “Who’s this kid?” he asked, looking puzzled.

Foxy’s face darkened at the man’s lack of manners.

“Gake, if you bother me again, I won’t be so nice,” Gion warned, turning to leave.

“Gake? Gion?” Foxy’s mind raced, trying to place the names.

“Could it be…? No way!”

“Tsuru’s sister, Gion. Short and stocky, confessing his love, gets rejected outright…”

“Future Admiral candidates, Momousagi Gion and Chaton Gake.”

Foxy finally remembered. He had read about them in forums. These two were said to be strong, being candidates for the position of Admiral. The anime hadn’t reached that point before Foxy crossed over, so he had only heard of them, not seen them.

Now, he was meeting them in person.

Momousagi was indeed beautiful. As for Gake, Foxy spared him a glance, thinking he wasn’t nearly as handsome as himself.

“Gion, give me a chance!” Gake pleaded, willing to abandon all pride for love.

“No,” Gion refused again, just as decisively.

At that moment, Tsuru approached from down the street. Seeing Gion and Gake at the gate, she wasn’t surprised. But she did look taken aback upon seeing Foxy.

“Vice Admiral Tsuru,” Jake greeted, saluting.

“Come inside,” Tsuru said, ignoring Gion’s irritated expression. She walked into the yard, looking at Foxy. “What brings you here?”

“Zefa-sensei is taking us away tomorrow, so I came to say goodbye. I don’t know many people in Marineford, so…” Foxy trailed off, his smile tinged with sadness.

“Don’t just stand outside. Come in,” Tsuru sighed, patting Foxy on the shoulder as she led the way inside.

Foxy followed, but Gake rushed ahead of him. Inside, they all sat on the sofa, with Gake eyeing Foxy and Gion still sulking.

“Be careful out there. I believe you can survive,” Tsuru said, breaking the silence.

“Yeah,” Foxy nodded.

“Stay for lunch,” Tsuru offered.

“Okay,” Foxy agreed. Getting closer to Tsuru was crucial, as maintaining a good relationship was essential, at least until he became more robust.
