In the past, there was a saying that weak nations have no diplomacy.
Before Dragon’s Revolutionary Army became powerful, the world’s strong factions were primarily divided into two camps: the Marines and the Pirates.
As for the remaining civilian powerhouses, most of them roamed freely and rarely entered a nation to serve as ministers.
Even if some did join a country to serve it, their strength was generally mediocre.
Take, for instance, a “monster” like Fujitora. Which king could afford to hire him? He alone could destroy a nation.
Otherwise, you have someone like Doflamingo, who seized the throne through strength and cunning.
Wapol’s arrogance stems from being a tyrant who doesn’t care about the lives of his subjects, which happens to be a soft spot for benevolent kings.
Conflicts between countries can lead to wars, and tyrants don’t care about the fate of their country and people, making them lawless at the World Conference.
But what if other kings stepped in to help? Would Wapol still be so arrogant?
I’ll support you if you have no one to back you up. Conversely, we’ll both oppose you if you dare to oppose me. Do you have the guts to go to war?
At the World Conference, every speech represents a nation. In such a setting, having one more person to speak on your behalf significantly impacts you.
With enough influence, you gain a sufficient voice.
Due to the perennial disputes among the kings at the World Conference, each acting independently and arguing for their interests, having allies is immensely beneficial.
Even if the World Government wants to intervene, it must consider the face of the Allied nations, which can lead to decisions favouring the Allied countries.
Chairman Mao once said, “War is politics with bloodshed; politics is war without bloodshed.”
“Throughout history, war has inherently been political. It is a means to achieve political objectives, a continuation of human civilization and societal struggles through armed conflict.”
“Thus, wars initiated are driven by the core political essence, striving for the development of one’s own civilization.”
Every war contains political elements.
Why wage war if one can enhance influence and voice at the negotiation table, achieving goals through dialogue?
Michion hadn’t anticipated that the knowledge he absorbed in his previous life would be applied here, even using Mao’s words.
Timeless truths always resonate deeply.
If he handed out red books to the Revolutionary Army, he’d become the greatest revolutionary thinker!
If every country received a copy, the World Government would probably explode.
Standing on the deck, Michion considered his upcoming meeting with Cobra and how to convey the alliance’s benefits and significance.
Coming to this world and understanding the nature of the World Conference and inter-country influences deepened Michion’s comprehension of his past readings.
Confident about the upcoming meeting, Michion believed he could clearly articulate the alliance’s importance to Cobra.
However, as a pirate ship approached, Michion realised he no longer had time to ponder and validate his insights.
“We’re almost at Alabasta, and now pirates?” Michion said, looking at the approaching pirate ship with a hint of frustration.
From the North Sea to the Grand Line, the numerous pirates they encountered were annoying. With only a few worthy opponents, Michion lost interest.
Yujimura knew why Michion was so lacklustre. They had sparred plenty during their downtime.
Seeing the pirate flag, Yujimura smiled at Michion and said, “This time, you might find it interesting. That’s the pirate ship of ‘Vicious Dog’ Rad.”
“Oh? Is he a high-bounty pirate with some real strength?” Michion’s eyes lit up, eager to fight.
“Of course, not only is he a Devil Fruit user, but he’s quite special. Can you guess his fruit?” Yujimura asked.
“Zoan-type Dog-Dog Fruit, obviously. Come on, Yujimura, stop teasing. Anything else I need to know?” Michion rolled his eyes.
“Usually, Zoan users focus on hybrid forms, but this guy abandons the hybrid form for a full beast mode, attacking like a wild dog but with human intelligence. It’s tricky to adapt to,” Yujimura explained.
“Interesting, so I’ll be fighting an intelligent beast. This could be fun.” Michion stroked his chin, intrigued.
“Don’t underestimate him. In beast form, he combines animal instinct with human intelligence, making his combat style unpredictable and dangerous if you’re not prepared,” Yujimura warned.
“Got it, I’ll be careful,” Michion replied, noting the serious tone. He started strategising against this unique fighting style.
“Boom! Boom! Boom!”
The cannon fire interrupted his thoughts as the navy ship’s barrage prevented the pirate ship from fleeing, bringing the two ships closer.
Michion observed the pirates, most looking fierce and intimidating as they neared.
But the most striking sight was the large black dog standing at the ship’s bow.
With Michion’s keen eyesight, he could see the dog’s ferocious expression. A dog making such human-like expressions almost made Michion laugh.
“I’m going in!” Michion launched himself towards the black dog at the bow.
As he flew through the air, various coloured auras enveloped him. He adjusted his momentum, creating footholds in the air, aiming to strike the black dog.
Seeing only a kid coming at him, Rad decided to take the attack head-on, smirking at the sight.
“Is that a kid? Has the Navy run out of people?” Rad sneered, his dog face contorted in a grotesque grin.
Michion remained silent, focusing his downward momentum on a powerful punch.
“Tear Claw!”
Rad met Michion’s descending fist with his right paw in his black dog form.
“Boom!”
