After considering his options, Michion looked at Enel.
Enel’s face was full of conflict and a hint of disappointment at that moment. Perhaps he hadn’t expected his precious heirloom to be such a strange-looking fruit.
Michion smiled and explained to the sad Enel, “This fruit is actually called a Devil Fruit in the Blue Sea. Eating it grants you incredible powers. It looks like a Logia-type fruit, which is one of the rarest and most valuable types.”
“Really? My parents left me such a precious treasure?” Enel looked at the fruit with a complicated expression.
“If I eat it, will I become stronger and be able to help you, Brother Michion?”
“Absolutely,” Michion chuckled. “Logia-types are more valuable than you can imagine. With diligent training, you might catch up to me soon enough.”
“Especially since this Devil Fruit is the Rumble-Rumble Fruit,” Michion thought.
“I’ll eat it!” Enel decided immediately.
The thought of his parent’s legacy and wanting to become Michion’s companion fueled his determination.
“Oh, by the way, you have to eat the whole fruit. While just one bite activates the power, there’s a belief that eating the entire fruit makes the ability more complete,” Michion said with a mischievous grin. “But be warned, it might taste terrible, so brace yourself.”
“Don’t worry, I’ll eat it all,” Enel said confidently, patting his chest.
But soon, Enel regretted it…
“Ugh… Ugh…”
The moment he took a bite, Enel felt like he would collapse. One hand clutched his throat while the other supported him on the ground as his body convulsed in an attempt to vomit.
Enel had never experienced such a horrible taste. He felt like it might be worse than anything imaginable.
Every organ, every cell in his body seemed to reject the taste, but he had to eat it all.
“Isn’t one bite supposed to be enough to get the power? Maybe that belief isn’t true?” Enel looked at Michion with teary eyes, resembling a curly-haired dog.
“A man should stick to his word,” Michion said with a severe face, but inside, he was filled with an inexplicable sense of joy.
No, Michion wouldn’t admit that this was his way of messing with the once arrogant “God Enel” from the original series, hoping to have this as future blackmail material to tease him with.
“It’s so awful, worse than anything,” Enel groaned, looking desperate.
Michion laughed inside, recalling how terrible Devil Fruits tasted.
“True strength doesn’t give up over small challenges. If you want to follow me, you’ll face many more difficult trials. Do you understand?”
“Using the best persuasion technique,” Michion thought, maintaining a serious expression.
Enel listened to Michion’s words, his face resolute. He picked up the Devil Fruit as if he was heading into battle.
“I won’t give up here!” Enel’s face hardened, and he closed his eyes, forcing himself to eat the fruit as quickly as possible.
Then he promptly passed out.
Seeing this, Michion scratched his head awkwardly. “Was it really that bad? Maybe I shouldn’t have tricked him like that.”
But Michion handed Enel a bottle of water, which Enel gratefully drank after recovering.
Looking at Enel’s expression of lingering fear, Michion was glad his Devil Fruit tasted better.
After a while, Enel instinctively tried out his new power.
Sparks of blue electricity danced across his body, making him seem almost ethereal.
Michion saw this and knew it was the Logia’s elemental transformation.
“Amazing, I can produce electricity?” Enel marveled, extending his hand and watching blue lightning arc between his fingers.
“This is the Rumble-Rumble Fruit. It’s incredibly powerful in the Blue Sea,” Michion said, guiding Enel as he experimented with his new abilities. “Try concentrating the electricity into a ball and throwing it.”
Crackling electricity filled the air as Enel formed a blue ball of lightning and threw it at a nearby tree.
With a sizzling sound, the tree’s trunk turned black and small fires ignited.
Seeing this, Enel was stunned.
“I’m this powerful? And it seems my Observation Haki range has increased too…” Enel stared at his hands in disbelief.
Michion, however, was intrigued by Enel’s mention of “Mantra.”
“Enel, what did you call your ability just now?” Michion asked, excited.
“Mantra? It’s an ability I awakened while dodging those people’s attacks. It lets me sense incoming attacks. I named it Mantra.”
“That’s why I didn’t bump into any trees on the way here,” Enel explained, fearing Michion might not understand.
Hearing this, Michion was slightly disappointed but quickly adjusted his mindset. It wasn’t a loss.
Still, Enel had a significant talent for Observation Haki, similar to the naturally gifted child from Shandia.
After eating the Rumble-Rumble Fruit, Enel eagerly experimented with his new powers.
Following Michion’s suggestions, he tried various techniques but soon became exhausted.
After a brief rest, Michion explained the Logia’s ability to turn into an element.
However, when Enel thought he was invincible, Michion poured cold water on his enthusiasm.
Michion explained the three types of Haki and their specific effects, especially how Armament Haki could touch and hurt Logia users. He emphasized this several times.
From his knowledge of the original series, Michion knew many Logia users became overconfident and later paid for it with their lives.
This was something Enel needed to be aware of!
