One Piece: I Can Simplify Skills Chapter 2

Draw and Slash

sig sneered repeatedly, gesturing to the subordinate behind him, “Go on, teach this clueless brat a lesson.” “Yes, boss!” The henchman, Barney, smirked evilly as he drew the samurai sword from his waist.

Rokujin glanced at his opponent’s attributes and slowly drew his long sword. The moment he gripped his sword with both hands, his eyes hardened with determination, a sudden aura of authority emanating from him. He seemed transformed!

Behind him, Shanks, witnessing this, slightly widened his eyes in surprise, thinking, ‘Sword intent! This kid has already grasped sword intent; he might just become a swordsman master soon!’

“Hmph, putting on airs!” Barney didn’t notice this and charged forward with his sword raised. At this moment, Rokujin saw Barney’s movements as if in slow motion, easily spotting his flaws. He sidestepped to dodge the attack and countered with a sharp slash to Barney’s back. “Aah!” Barney screamed as he fell to the ground, blood spurting out.

“What?” sig’s expression shifted slightly, but he still didn’t consider Rokujin a threat, stepping forward with bravado, “Kid, you’ve got some skills, but you’re nothing in front of me, sig the Bandit King!”

“Hmph, let’s see about that!” Rokujin responded fearlessly.

“Seeking death!” sig roared, swinging his sword down. Standing much taller at 1.9 meters, he towered over Rokujin, who could not dodge and was forced to block with his sword. “Clang!” The swords clashed, emitting a crisp sound. The powerful force nearly knocked Rokujin off his feet; he clenched his teeth and barely managed to stabilize himself. Sig was indeed stronger, being a level higher.

sig smirked, continuously swinging his long sword at Rokujin, “Kid, you’re not that impressive!” Rokujin could only keep blocking. “Clang! Clang! Clang…” Suddenly, sig’s sword strikes became faster, the swords clashing and ringing with sharp sounds. Each strike was like a storm, forcing Rokujin to keep retreating.

Suddenly, Rokujin noticed a small crack on his long sword, which grew with each of Sig’s attacks. “This is bad!!” His face changed slightly, and he took the opportunity to roll back swiftly during one of Sig’s attacks. Simultaneously, sig’s sword struck down on the blade of Rokujin’s sword. “Clang!” A crisp sound, and the sword split in two! Looking at his broken sword, Rokujin muttered in frustration, “This lousy sword!” His sword was just a normal blade, while Sig’s was superior.

“Ha, you’ve lost your sword; how can you fight me now? Kneel and beg for mercy, and I might let you go!” sig laughed wildly. But Rokujin was not the type to beg for mercy. Holding the broken blade, his eyes narrowed, and he kicked up dust as he charged forward, slashing with his broken sword. “Hmm?” sig frowned, instinctively blocking with his sword. In a flash, he didn’t even know if he had blocked successfully, as he did not hear the clash of blades.

The next second. A stabbing pain came from his abdomen, and a rush of crimson blood seeped out! Sig looked down to see he was wounded, raising his sword in a fury, “Ah! Kid, you are dead today!”

“This is bad!” Seeing this, Rokujin’s expression shifted. His sword was too short, and it was difficult to defeat Sig, especially since he could only make another attack like the last one. Just as Sig was about to charge, Shanks threw a long sword. “Rokujin, catch!” “Okay!” Rokujin’s face lit up as he leaped up to grab Shanks’s sword, the Griffin. The Supreme Fast Sword! He grabbed the green handle and drew the Griffin from its sheath. Instantly, the blade shimmered, dazzling to those around. Looking at Griffin’s blade, a slender sword capable of withstanding blows as strong as a magma fist, as graceful as a griffin.

Rokujin landed firmly, holding the Griffin, his expression excited. The Griffin! A supreme fast sword! A casual swing could cut through anything in its path. “Hmph, just a foolish pirate’s sword!” sig scoffed with a contemptuous smile. Once again, he swung his sword towards Rokujin’s head, intending to kill him with one strike. Suddenly, Rokujin sheathed the Griffin again, stepping forward and assuming a drawing stance.

“Rokujin bro!” Luffy shouted anxiously, rushing

down from his stool. Fortunately, Shanks quickly grabbed him, reassuring, “Don’t worry, Rokujin will be fine.”

“Hmm?” Luffy looked puzzled, wondering why someone who hadn’t made a move before would say that.

As Sig’s sword neared Rokujin’s head, Rokujin’s eyes grew cold. “One Sword Style: Draw and Slash!” In an instant, he drew the Griffin with the speed of lightning and executed a swift slash. Already having mastered a hint of sword intent, Rokujin, with the power of Shanks’s Griffin, unleashed a fierce blade light that dazzled all onlookers.

The flash of the blade was swift! Sig suddenly froze in place as if spellbound, motionless. Meanwhile, Rokujin slowly sheathed his sword and deeply breathed, “Huff…”

“Boss! Boss! Are you okay?” “Are you alright, Boss?” The bandits crowded around, anxiously inquiring.

However, sig didn’t respond to them; his eyes were fixed ahead, and there was a look of disbelief on his face. Then, his long sword split in two. As the broken sword fell, a burst of fresh blood spurted from Sig, and he staggered backward heavily. “Boss! Boss!” “Ah! The Boss is dead!” The bandits panicked and scattered.

At that moment, the system’s notification tone rang out.

【Ding, congratulations to the host for completing the task, system reward: Quick Sword +1, Energy Points +2!】

Seeing the system message, Rokujin’s lips curled into a satisfied smile as he handed the Griffin back to Shanks. “Thanks, Shanks!”

“Haha, what’s there to thank me for, I should be thanking you, actually. You’ve shown me what a good swordsman looks like!” Shanks laughed heartily, then continued, “Who did you learn your swordsmanship from?”

“Self…” Rokujin started to reply but then swallowed his words, chuckling, “That’s a secret, I’ll tell you about it when the time comes!”

“Still a secret, huh? Then I guess I’ll have to wait until then,” Shanks responded. “I have a friend whose swordsmanship isn’t bad either; maybe I could introduce you to him sometime!”

“That sounds great!” Rokujin agreed readily. He naturally knew that Shanks’s friend was likely the world’s greatest swordsman, Hawkeye Mihawk!
