Under Zephyr’s guidance, the others began comprehending and learning about Haki. Zephyr demonstrated Haki, provided a brief explanation, and then started the training session on Haki. The method to learn Haki was singular—pushing beyond one’s limits. Thus, the trainees once again embarked on stress training sessions.
Soon after, Zephyr approached Rokujin and asked, “Tell me, what do you want to learn now?” Adhering to the principle of not biting off more than one can chew, he wasn’t planning to teach Rokujin anything else; he preferred letting him grasp things independently. He was also curious to see what Rokujin wanted to learn.
“Swordsmanship!” Rokujin replied with a smile. He knew Zephyr’s swordsmanship was only at a D level, which might not help him much, but he could find someone else to teach him. What he lacked most now was skills in swordsmanship.
After a moment’s thought, Zephyr suddenly had an idea and said, “I’ll find a way for swordsmanship. In the meantime, keep practising your Haki, and you should hear something in up to three months!”
“Thank you, Instructor!” Rokujin quickly expressed his gratitude.
“Alright, go practice on your own. If you have any questions, just ask me,” Zephyr concluded. He was about to leave when Rokujin stopped him, “Instructor, I want to know how to release Haki so that it can damage an opponent’s internal organs and cause internal injuries!” Both techniques were advanced applications of Haki, which was usually difficult for most to grasp. Armament Haki hardening was relatively straightforward, which Rokujin had already grasped as his Haki reached F level.
“Oh?” A confident smile appeared on Zephyr’s face as if to say, “So you don’t know everything, eh? It seems Garp hasn’t taught you everything after all!”
“Alright, come with me!” “Yes, Instructor!” Zephyr led the way, and Rokujin quickly followed. A few minutes later, the two reached an open training area. Zephyr stood before a sturdy wooden post and explained, “You’ve already learned Haki. There are four techniques in Armament Haki.”
“They are Hardening, Envelopment, Emission, and Internal Destruction,” Zephyr continued. “I see you’ve mastered Hardening and Envelopment. After enveloping your weapon or body with Haki, the next step is to release it.”
“This requires strong control over the release of Haki,” Zephyr advised. “I’ll show you how it’s done!” Saying this, Zephyr extended his right hand, making the gesture for the Navy Six Powers: Finger Pistol. His whole right hand was instantly covered in red Haki, with the Haki beginning to wrap around his hand, flickering with purple electrical arcs.
Then, a small amount of solidified Haki gathered on his fingertip, forming a small purple ball of Haki. “Bang!” “Finger Pistol!” Zephyr flicked his finger, and the Haki shot out, quickly breaking the sound barrier and striking the wooden post. “Thump!” A loud thud echoed as a thumb-sized hole appeared through the post.
[Ding, congratulations, host, on discovering the “Haki Emission” skill. Would you like to learn it?] “Yes!” Rokujin immediately chose to learn and asked, “Instructor, what about the technique for causing internal injuries?”
“Alright, I’ll show you again!” Then, Zephyr demonstrated the technique for internal injuries, even combining Haki Emission and internal damage in his demonstration. He condensed Haki around his fist and hurled it toward another tree post. A fist-shaped burst of Haki shot through the air, drawing a purple line and striking the post.
“Boom!” A tremendous noise erupted as the inside of the post was obliterated, sending splinters flying, while the exterior remained undamaged.
[Ding, congratulations, host, on discovering the skill “Haki Internal Damage,” would you like to learn it?] “Yes!” After choosing, Rokujin quickly thanked me, “Thank you, Instructor!”
“Take your time to practice; these two techniques should keep you busy until the swordsmanship instructor I’ve arranged is ready,” Zephyr noted. “Yes, Instructor!” Zephyr then turned and left.
Rokujin began practising the newly learned Armament Haki techniques. If Zephyr had seen this, he probably would have been astounded, jaw-dropping in surprise! After a day of training, he could rest in the evening.
…Back at the elite training camp dormitories. When Rokujin returned, he ran into Xize, standing at his dorm door.
, “Xize! What brings you here?” “Hehe, I’m on break. I came to hang out with you.” “Where to?” “Sabaody Archipelago, you haven’t been there yet, right?” “Great, let me shower, and then we can go!” “Okay!” Hearing it was Sabaody, Rokujin readily agreed, eager to explore a new place.
After showering, Rokujin and Xize headed for Sabaody. Xize mentioned that he had invited Barton but was busy practising his Haki and had declined, probably still thinking about beating Rokujin. Sabaody Archipelago, being close to the Marine Headquarters, took them less than half an hour to reach.
The island is made up of the world’s largest mangrove, the Yarukiman Mangrove. Because its roots are always above water, they form the Sabaody Archipelago. The archipelago consists of 79 islands, each numbered according to the tree it grows from. Each island has a different function.
The Navy occupies areas 60-69, but Rokujin and Xize arrived on Island 40. Islands 40-49 are tourist areas, safe and commercial spots, unlike Islands 1-29, which are notorious for human trafficking and largely ignored by the Navy.
The two walked through bustling streets, overwhelmed by the sheer variety of unfamiliar items. “Rokujin, this place is huge, even bigger than our city!” Xize exclaimed. “Yes, it’s huge. How about we split up to shop and meet here tonight?” “Sounds good!” After agreeing, they went their separate ways.
However, Rokujin paused, observing three children in black robes at a street corner. Despite their excellent disguise, the system immediately identified them.
[Character: Boa Hancock]
[Position: None]
[Level: F]
[Skills: Conqueror’s Haki (F), Perfume Femur (F)…]
[Bounty: 500,000]
The other two were naturally Hancock’s sisters, Boa Marigold and Boa Sandersonia. Of course, Rokujin wouldn’t approach them without reason, but the system had triggered a quest.
