One Piece: I Can Simplify Skills Chapter 7

Ace! The Three Grandsons

“Luffy ate a Devil Fruit, and that’s what happened.” Rokujin had no choice but to answer truthfully, and he also spoke about the incident with Red-Haired Shanks. He definitely didn’t want to face Garp’s fist. Upon hearing this, Garp’s face froze, and he immediately punched Luffy on the head. “Luffy! How dare you associate with pirates and eat a Devil Fruit!” “Thud!” A loud thump followed, and a big red bump immediately appeared on Luffy’s head. “Ouch! That hurts. I’m made of rubber now; why does it still hurt!” Luffy cried out in pain.

Beside him, Rokujin revealed a hint of joy, silently thinking: “Armament, Haki!”

【Ding, ‘Armament Haki’ skill detected, would you like to learn?】

“Yes!” Without any hesitation, Rokujin decisively chose to learn it. Armament Haki is a must-have.

Moments later, Garp’s anger subsided a bit, and he seriously said, “Luffy, Rokujin, and Ace, you all must become the strongest in the Navy!” “Especially you, Luffy. It was a mistake to leave you in the relaxed Windmill Village to think you were mingling with pirates!” “You fool, to even be involved with Red-Haired Shanks!” However, Luffy clearly disagreed, retorting, “I want to be a great man like Shanks. I am going to be the Pirate King…” Before he could finish, Garp’s face turned furious again, and he delivered two more punches. “Thud! Thud!” “Ouch! That hurts!” Luffy cried, clutching his head as two new bumps formed.

“Uh…” Rokujin could hardly bear to watch. Their grandfather’s punches weren’t severely harmful, but they still caused persistent pain. It must be extremely uncomfortable! After a moment of silence, Garp suddenly turned to Rokujin and asked, “Rokujin, you’re not young anymore. You don’t have the same ideas as Luffy, wanting to be a pirate, right?” “No, no, I want to be in the Navy!” Rokujin quickly shook his head in denial. Who wants to be punched?

“That’s good!” Hearing this, Garp seemed a bit more at ease, “Luffy, you can’t stay in Windmill Village anymore; come with me to another place!” “Grandpa, I won’t go!” Luffy defiantly sat down on the ground. However, Garp wasn’t about to agree, and picking up Luffy, he strode off angrily. “You don’t have a choice!” “Makino, I’ll go with Grandpa for now. See you tonight!” Seeing this, Rokujin bid farewell to everyone in the tavern and quickly followed.

Gol D. Mountain. Garp led the way, pulling Luffy along, with Rokujin following behind. This mountain, known as Gol D. Mountain, was a place where the villagers of Windmill Village dared not enter carelessly, as it was a world where only the strong survive. Seeing the mountain, Rokujin knew that Garp was planning to leave Luffy with Dadan.

About half an hour later, the three arrived in front of a wooden hut. Throughout the journey, Luffy struggled, but it was futile against Garp. Garp knocked on the door: “Thud! Thud!” Meanwhile, Luffy curiously looked at the house, “What is this place?” Seizing the moment while Garp was distracted, he ran towards the house. “Hey! Luffy! Don’t run off!” Seeing this, Rokujin quickly followed and grabbed him.

Soon, a woman with orange hair and a cigarette in her mouth came out, “Who is it!” The person was Curly Dadan, the mountain bandit of Gol D. Mountain. Seeing it was Garp, Dadan’s arrogant expression immediately disappeared, turning respectful: “Oh, it’s Mr. Garp!” Garp then spoke with Dadan and entrusted Luffy to her care.

Rokujin kept looking around and suddenly noticed a figure on the side, so he walked over. Taking a few steps forward, he suddenly noticed something flying at him at high speed. “Hmm?” Rokujin frowned and quickly dodged to the side, avoiding the incoming rock. He then looked up and saw a boy standing on a tree branch, wearing a red shirt and with some freckles on his face.

【Character: Portgas D. Ace】
【Level: G+】
【Skill: Physical Arts (F)】

Without needing to see the system interface, Rokujin knew it was Ace, smiling and saying, “You must be Ace, right? I’m Luffy’s brother, Rokujin, and my brother might trouble you to look after him in the future!” “Hmm?” Ace glanced at Rokujin without saying a word,

jumped down from the tree, and walked towards the room. He didn’t speak, but was somewhat surprised inside: “Being able to dodge my attack, he must be stronger than me!” “Hehe!” Rokujin wasn’t upset by this, looking at the huge buffalo carcass nearby. It must have been killed by Ace, to have such strength at such a young age. It’s just a pity, ten years later, he would die in the Summit War! Who would have thought he was the son of the Pirate King?

Suddenly, the system popped up a message notification.

【Ding, congratulations host on triggering the mission: Save Ace in the Summit War, system reward: Energy +10, Sword Technique +2, specify 3 skills to improve by two major grades!】

The reward was generous, but the mission was tough. Saving Ace in that place meant outright opposing the Navy. Despite this, Rokujin still wanted to try!

Soon. Garp handed Luffy over to Dadan, walked over to Rokujin, and said, “Rokujin, come on, follow me to the Navy base!”

“Alright, Grandpa!” After bidding farewell to Luffy, Rokujin followed Garp as they left. On the way back to Windmill Village, Garp was walking when he suddenly asked, “Rokujin, I heard you defeated the bandit sig and that your current sword isn’t the one you originally had, is it?” “Um…” Hearing this, Rokujin was momentarily stunned, but he knew he couldn’t keep secrets from his grandfather, and explained, “Yes, my original sword was broken by sin, and this one was given to me by Shanks.” He didn’t have any money, and the money for the original sword was also requested from Garp.

Garp said, “Let me see it!” “Sure!” Rokujin handed over the sword to Garp. Taking the sword, Garp drew it and looked at the blade that flickered with a cold light, nodding in satisfaction, “Not bad, it’s a decent quick-drawing sword. I didn’t expect Shanks to part with it and give it to you.” “Haha!” Rokujin laughed without saying much, thinking to himself, “Shanks, sorry, but I had to use your name for now!”

Afterwards, Garp returned the sword to Rokujin, advising, “Just focus on your training in the Navy, and I promise to get you a supreme quality sword one day!” “Thank you, Grandpa!” “Mm!” Garp nodded in satisfaction. With three grandsons, Ace and Luffy both wanting to be pirates, he was relieved that at least one grandson wanted to join the Navy. Otherwise, what would he do in the coming days!

Soon, the grandson and grandfather returned to Windmill Village dock. After saying goodbye to the villagers, Rokujin boarded Garp’s ship, setting off towards the Navy headquarters.
