One Piece Quest Fruit Chapter 32

Is Chef Lila Changing Careers?

Eust and Lila both took on 24-hour training missions and naturally, they needed to start their training immediately.

Training at night was inconvenient, so they began now, using the rest of the day and the following morning to ensure ample training time.

Eust sighed, knowing that this sword training mission wouldn’t directly improve his swordsmanship skills but accepted that missions had to be completed once issued. He wouldn’t easily give up an opportunity to undertake a mission.

Regardless, Eust began his sword training, Sunny performed exclusive strategist cat training nearby, and Lila carried out her running training in their vicinity.

By evening, Eust, Lila, and Sunny had dinner by the shore. Eust caught some food, and Sunny’s mission space provided additional supplies, giving them a chance to witness Lila’s cooking skills.

Lila’s culinary talents were indeed exceptional, possibly better than Eust’s, though not to the extent that her food glowed. Both Eust and Sunny genuinely praised her cooking.

Pleased with the recognition of her cooking skills, Lila chattered away with Eust and Sunny as they enjoyed dinner.

After dinner, it was time to find lodging. Since they were on an island, staying in the cramped boat cabin was unnecessary. They found a decent inn and took two adjacent rooms.

The next morning, the trio woke up, freshened up, and had breakfast in the inn’s dining hall. Eust also listened for any interesting news but heard nothing noteworthy. After breakfast, it was time to complete their missions to free up time for gathering information later.

As they trained, time passed slowly. Lila was particularly happy upon completing her mission and receiving her reward.

Although her strength hadn’t improved much, the executor’s unique perception ability allowed Lila to clearly sense her progress. This feeling was quite satisfying, making the mission fruit’s abilities seem remarkable.

Having completed their morning tasks, Eust and Lila prepared lunch together. It took less time with both of them cooking, and Sunny was delighted to have two chefs.

Lila had grown closer to Eust and Sunny over time, seeming to change for the better.

During lunch, Lila told Eust she wanted to buy some books on navigation.

Eust was puzzled. She thought Lila was well-suited for logistics and wondered why she wanted to become a navigator, especially since she had no background in navigation.

“Lila, why do you want to buy books on navigation? Sunny has some basic navigation books,” Eust asked.

“Meow, all the books Eust bought are in the mission space,” Sunny added.

“Silly Eust, I want to buy navigation books to study navigation. But since we already have them, there’s no need to buy more,” Lila replied.

“Uh, are you sure you want to study navigation?”

“Of course! When I first set out to sea, I planned to learn navigation on the first island I reached. Did you think I was foolish enough to adventure without basic navigation knowledge?” Lila retorted.

“Hehe, I would never underestimate you, Lila. You must have misunderstood me.”

“I’m very interested in navigation. I was always curious about it but had little chance to learn on my island. Now that I have the opportunity, I want to study it. Besides, if I’m right, Eust only knows basic navigation.”

“That’s correct. Sunny and I aren’t very fond of navigation. I only bought books and learned the basics because it was necessary for sailing.”

“Exactly! With Eust’s level of navigation, how can we manage? You need me for this.”

“If you’re interested, feel free to ask Sunny for the books.”

“Meow, no problem.”

“Also, the mission fruit’s tasks can help Lila quickly master navigation. Lila can discuss her task preferences with Sunny, who will try to issue suitable missions.”

“Yes, I know. That’s why I said my main goal is life missions with high compatibility rewards, and my secondary goal is improving my strength.”

“Oh, so you had this in mind when you learned about the mission fruit’s abilities. Smart! I thought I was the only one who realized the mission fruit could help with life skills.”

And so, it seemed Lila was shifting from a chef to a navigator. It remained to be seen how talented she was in navigation and whether her interest would be fleeting or long-lasting. But trying it out was a good start.

In the afternoon, Eust suggested they stroll around town, taste local fruits and snacks, and learn about the town’s history.

To Eust, adventure wasn’t just about treasures; enjoying life and scenery was equally important.

Of course, treasures were sometimes exciting, especially the process of finding them. The satisfaction from obtaining a treasure after a challenging adventure was immense.

They had just finished some snacks as they wandered when they heard a commotion ahead. Eust, not keen on trouble, intended to avoid it, but the narrow street made it difficult. So, they approached to see what was happening.

They discovered a street fight. Although no weapons were used, the combatants fought fiercely with fists and kicks, displaying considerable power.

To Eust, the fight resembled “wild brawling” with no technique, relying solely on speed and strength.

This was typical in the world of pirates, where ordinary people lacked formal combat techniques, and swordsmen didn’t follow specific sword styles.

Physical skills like “Rokushiki” and Armament Haki, and swordsmen’s slashes and “sword aura” seemed vague but fit the pirate world’s logic.

The pirate world prioritized greater strength and speed, with top fighters focusing on Haki.

For instance, strong Armament Haki rendered techniques meaningless if they couldn’t break through defenses.

Eust partly agreed with this view but also valued techniques.

He believed that when evenly matched, superior technique prevailed. If slightly weaker, good technique could keep one on par. And if significantly weaker, the technique could at lEust aid in escape.

So, Eust continued to train in techniques.

While Eust pondered this, the fight ended with a clear winner, dispersing the crowd. Eust didn’t care why they fought and resumed his exploration.

Eust didn’t seek trouble, but trouble seemed to find him. Couldn’t he just enjoy a peaceful stroll?
