After Eust took advantage and finished off Quick Blade Perry, he naturally engaged in a round of “looting.” Eust wouldn’t be polite with Quick Blade Perry. Believing that pirate hunters and the navy in the pirate world are inherently good people would be naive.
Just judging by Perry’s brother’s behavior, you could infer Perry’s character. Moreover, Perry came to kill Eust and his crew, so Eust couldn’t afford to be polite. Anyone threatening his life or his companions would not be spared easily.
Additionally, Eust wouldn’t foolishly leave behind loot. Abandoning treasure along with the enemies would be, in Eust’s view, extremely stupid. That would only disrupt the “normal market circulation” and encourage “grave robbers.”
Whether Eust’s logic is right or not, he wouldn’t pass up on looting the spoils. Most of the time, the loot significantly aids his development.
The obtained wealth ensures that Eust and his crew don’t need to worry too much about berries. Besides daily living expenses, they also need to save up to buy a ship.
The weapons they acquired naturally became part of their weapon reserves. Eust’s Child Tiger Blade was obtained this way. These weapon reserves will be useful when new crew members join.
After sorting through miscellaneous items, they discarded worthless ones and kept valuable ones. Eust even hoped to find something like a treasure map, though he didn’t know if he’d be so lucky.
After wrapping up the post-battle tasks, Eust, along with the bandaged Sunny, fetched Lila, who had been temporarily hidden during the battle, and returned to their lodging to start a post-battle summary.
However, the one who talked the most was the captain, Eust, who hadn’t exerted much effort. Sunny obediently listened while munching on snacks to replenish energy, and Lila, who wasn’t present at the scene, didn’t have much to say.
Eust’s main point was: don’t overestimate the enemy to the point where you’re scared to fight, but also don’t underestimate the enemy, becoming complacent and giving them opportunities.
In summary, it was about strategically looking down on the enemy but tactically taking them seriously.
Then came the exciting task of tallying the spoils. They found a saber, a dagger, over two million berries, some other valuable items, and miscellaneous goods.
Perry’s saber was clearly better than Eust’s Child Tiger Blade, but Eust decided not to use it. Having a single notable weapon had already drawn too much attention; owning an even better blade would only increase the risk of being robbed.
Eust had Sunny store the saber, and they were planning to use it when the time was right. For now, the Child Tiger Blade was sufficient.
Eust’s hobby is naming blades. Due to Lila and Sunny’s previous performance, Eust decided to name the blade himself.
He finally decided to name the blade “Three Masters Blade,” symbolizing “three people walking, one must be my teacher, ” marking it as his third high-quality weapon.
The dagger was singled out because of its excellent quality. It was not an ordinary dagger; it was very sharp and given to Lila for self-defense.
Eust casually said, “Taking care of the crew is a captain’s duty, no need to thank me, Lady Lila.”
Lila was very happy, and Eust felt that it was all good as long as everyone was happy.
Regarding the more than two million berries they acquired, it clearly included the bounty Perry received for capturing a hundred-thousand-level bounty pirate, along with his own money. They kept these with other valuables for safekeeping, as Eust loved treasure.
As for the miscellaneous items, Eust had everyone look through them to see if anything was useful. If not, they’d dispose of them later. They didn’t find anything notable, but it didn’t matter.
After sorting through the loot, Eust found they had gained at lEust three million berries in “income.”
Is this what they call “no wealth without windfall, no fat horse without night grass”? No way, I, Eust, cannot follow the “pirate path.” I must adhere to the principle of “if people don’t offend me, I won’t offend them.”
Quick Blade Perry, too, was careless. His saber alone was worth at lEust a hundred thousand berries. Wasn’t he afraid of being robbed?
However, Perry’s strength was apparent. He was a pirate hunter, so small-time pirates and thugs weren’t a concern for him. Besides, the sea is vast; encountering a major pirate isn’t that common.
Through his sword duel with Desli and observing Sunny’s battle with Perry, Eust clearly understood his abilities and formulated new training plans.
Thanks to his training and the mission fruit, Eust’s basic swordsmanship was decent, but he lacked a finishing move, which was a significant regret.
Although Perry’s Iaijutsu often only had one strike in battle, its speed was terrifying. Without precaution, it was easy to be ambushed. Eust envied that and planned to learn Iaijutsu.
But neither Perry nor Desli had “martial arts manuals,” so Eust didn’t get any. Turns out, “gifting techniques” is mostly a scam.
Even the half-baked Desli didn’t have any “manuals,” suggesting that martial skills in the pirate world are likely passed down orally. The chances of encountering a “gifted technique” are very low.
Eust’s plan to learn Iaijutsu would require self-exploration on how to draw and strike quickly and decisively. He also hoped the mission fruit’s abilities would aid in comprehending Iaijutsu.
Having resolved the issue with Quick Blade Perry, the “bloodshed” caused by the Child Tiger Blade came to an end. Eust planned to rest on Lightlin Island for a few days and take on some life missions from Sunny, as a form of adjustment.
Once Sunny recovered from the side effects of his transformation, they would set sail again for further adventures. They couldn’t stay on Lightlin Island forever; they needed to find new companions and continue their journey.
After summarizing the battle and sorting the loot, Eust hadn’t even mentioned having a fEust. Sunny had already devoured enough food that a fEust seemed unnecessary.
Though Eust and his crew had decent appetites, each eating several times more than an average person, even combined, they couldn’t compare to Luffy’s rubber-man appetite.
Since Sunny was already full, a fEust wasn’t necessary. Eust and Lila would just have their regular meals.
With the Perry issue resolved, it was already late. Even if Sunny’s mission fruit had cooled down, it wasn’t the right time to take on a mission. They’d have to wait until tomorrow.
Eust spent the remaining time pondering Iaijutsu, practicing with his Child Tiger Blade.
Lila was immersed in navigation knowledge, occasionally asking Eust about it.
The greatest contributor to the battle, Sunny, after eating his fill, went into a resting state. His wounds would likely heal by tomorrow.
The side effects would take longer to resolve, and time would be needed to repair some internal “things” and accumulate energy. But it would only take a few days, much shorter than last time.
If Sunny frequently used his transformation ability, it could cause irreparable internal damage. Therefore, Eust didn’t allow Sunny to transform freely. He could only use it after fully recovering and in emergencies.
Additionally, each battle helped Sunny adapt to his combat form, enhancing his strength. Eust needed to work harder; otherwise, it would be difficult to surpass strategist cat Sunny.
