One Piece Quest Fruit Chapter 43

The Cunning Opponent (Part 1)

The next day, Eust and his crew woke up, had breakfast, and set off in their boat just as dawn broke.

Why leave so early? To confront those who messed with their unattended boat. Eust naturally wanted to seek justice.

Time wasn’t a concern. Eust had woken up early, fuming about the bald guy’s gang. Unable to sleep, he woke Lyra from her slumber to prepare breakfast together while Sunny woke up on her own.

We’ll forgive Eust this time to teach the bald guy’s gang a lesson quickly. Even Miss Lyra had forgiven him.

During the boat ride, Eust reminded himself that if the other party apologized and compensated them for their mental distress, he would let it go.

But if they resisted, Eust would beat them until they apologized and compensated them.

One way or another, he intended to make them pay a heavy price for his mental distress.

Arriving at the dock, Eust disembarked and approached the boat docked nearby, which was two or three times the size of his own. He saw no one on its deck.

Eust was there to demand an explanation and didn’t hold back, jumping onto their boat. Lyra and Sunny stayed on their own boat, a distance away from the bald guy’s boat, to avoid getting caught in any potential conflict. Sunny stayed back to protect Lyra.

Eust reached the deck, but no one appeared. He wondered if the boat was empty, which would be embarrassing after arriving so aggressively.

However, they might just be sleeping in. Eust shouted loudly, “It’s thundering! Bring in the clothes!”

He shouted three times before six people finally emerged from the cabin.

Leading them was the bald giant. Before he could speak, Eust punched him, causing the two-meter-tall giant to stagger back a few steps.

Eust, having trained hard and received help from the Mission Fruit, was far stronger than an average person, and his punch packed a huge force.

The bald giant was likely a strength-type “fighter,” possibly as strong as Eust but slower to react. Caught off guard, he naturally stumbled back.

His subordinates were surprised and stood there in shock, not making a sound.

Eust didn’t expect them to yield easily. Seeing their reaction made him angrier, thinking they wouldn’t say anything good. He decided to intimidate them first.

The six of them were stunned for a moment before reacting. Before the bald giant could speak, his subordinates did.

“Who’s this kid, daring to hit our boss? Is he tired of living?”

“Boss, are you okay? Should we teach this kid a lesson?”

“Is he crazy? Running wild on our boat.”

Eust was about to tell them to shut up, but the bald giant beat him to it, saying, “Shut up!”

The subordinates fell silent immediately.

The bald giant slowly approached Eust, smiling as he said, “Young man, is there a misunderstanding? If you explain, we might find it’s just a mistake.”

Such an attitude from the other party made it hard for Eust to stay angry. He was about to explain how they damaged his boat and supplies.

Before he could speak, the giant suddenly punched him, likely to “retaliate” for the earlier blow.

Eust got hit and stepped back several paces to dissipate the force, but it didn’t mean the opponent was very strong.

Strength compares overall qualities. This only showed the giant’s strength, which was indeed significant. Due to his weight, Eust retreated more steps.

Unexpectedly, the bald giant was cunning, using the conversation as a pretext to attack, far from his earlier appearance.

Moreover, the giant had impressive endurance, barely affected by Eust’s punch.

Eust, however, wasn’t as tough, feeling some pain in his abdomen after the punch, indicating a minor injury.

He had underestimated the opponent, misled by his soft tone, and let his guard down, a mistake he shouldn’t have made.

After his fight with the swordsman Dessler, he had told himself never to underestimate an opponent, yet he had done so again.

While stepping back, Eust thought about many things but didn’t slow down. He drew his sword, the “Zihuto,” as he retreated.

At this moment, the giant shouted, “Get him! Kill him.” His subordinates drew their swords and surrounded Eust.

Clearly, the bald giant was not only cunning but also ruthless.

Eust calmly retreated to the bow, avoiding being completely surrounded. His opponents could only form a semi-circle around him.

Eust was surprised but realized the opponent intended to kill him. He was furious. The other party was at fault, deserving the punch. Why try to kill him?

He forgot he hadn’t explained about his boat yet, but the opponent was clearly not innocent. Getting punched and then trying to gang up and kill him was not normal behavior, likely indicating they were pirates.

The first to attack was a generic henchman, thinking Eust would panic surrounded by allies. He wanted to take the first strike and impress the boss.

But Eust didn’t hesitate with those who threatened his life. With a quick slash, he ended the henchman’s life, who only saw a flash of white light and couldn’t even leave his name.

The others hesitated, now aware of Eust’s prowess, and retreated, causing a temporary stalemate.

Eust, needing to catch his breath and ease his aching abdomen, took a moment to adjust.

After adjusting, Eust planned to deal with the henchmen when the bald giant appeared, wielding his heavy spiked club.

Seeing the stalemate and the fallen henchman, the giant understood the situation immediately.

He hadn’t expected his subordinates to kill Eust. He felt the punch’s force and knew Eust wasn’t simple.

He ordered them to delay Eust while he fetched his custom weapon. Now, he’d easily handle the young intruder.

Seeing Eust’s reaction, the giant was confident his punch had injured him. He trusted his strength and cunning, having killed many through deception and “strategy.”
