One Piece Quest Fruit Chapter 52

Pirate Encounter – Crushing the Fodder

After Lilith completed her small sailboat evolution, Eust and his crew replenished their supplies and set sail for Syrup Island.

The distance wasn’t far, just about a day’s journey. But within that day, Eust’s “business” opened.

It happened because, during their journey, they encountered a band of pirates.

Most pirates can be described with words like greedy, brutal, and inhuman, living by killing and plundering.

The pirates Eust and his crew encountered had just successfully plundered a village. This was evident from the pirate flag flying on their mast.

As they spotted the pirate ship from afar, Eust pondered whether to “take them out.” His thought process was similar to when Sunny faced the bounty hunter Perry.

Sunny’s unique danger sensing ability didn’t indicated extreme danger when facing Perry, just significant danger, indirectly showing Perry’s strength.

The danger level on Ghost Island was lower than when facing Perry. This emboldened Eust to take risks. If anyone thought Eust was reckless without a plan, they underestimated him.

Eust chose to confront only when he saw a reasonable chance of success. If failure was certain, he wouldn’t foolishly persist.

Sunny estimated the odds against Perry were about fifty-fifty or sixty-forty. After much thought, Eust decided to stay and fight Perry. Due to a lack of information, Sunny avoided Perry’s most powerful iaijutsu and, after that, didn’t give Perry a chance, winning with only minor injuries.

Now, Eust considered taking down the pirate crew because Sunny said he wouldn’t need to intervene—Eust could handle them alone with caution.

Seeing two small boats, the pirates also decided to “go for it,” thinking they could easily bully Eust’s crew. While Eust deliberated, the pirate ship charged towards them.

A battle was imminent. Eust told Sunny not to intervene and to protect Lyra and Lilith instead.

Eust stayed at the bow, ready to leap onto the pirate ship and create a battlefield there. It was time to showcase his real skills.

As the pirate ship approached, Eust jumped onto their deck before they could act.

He didn’t hesitate, taking down the nearest four pirates. This sudden assault caught them off guard.

The pirates realized this intruder was formidable and looked to their captain, a fierce man with a wolf-head tattoo on his arm.

The captain, called Blue Wolf, confronted Eust directly: “Kid, you dare kill my Blue Wolf Pirate crew? Let me show you the consequences of crossing the Blue Wolf Pirates.”

Blue Wolf attacked with his sword, and Eust met him head-on. They clashed fiercely.

Blue Wolf was agile and experienced but still within Eust’s ability to handle. After several intense rounds, Eust injured Blue Wolf, who retreated, giving Eust no chance to pursue.

Blue Wolf then ordered his men to attack together, hoping to strike Eust while he was distracted.

But Eust wasn’t easily ambushed. He remained vigilant against sneak attacks, though this exhausted him more. Despite this, he quickly dealt with many pirates, only needing to watch out for Blue Wolf’s attacks.

Realizing the tide was against him, Blue Wolf ordered his men to use firearms, disregarding the risk of friendly fire. This made Eust extra cautious.

He didn’t want to get injured or die by some nameless grunt’s hands. He quickened his pace, charging at the armed pirates.

Despite his caution, Eust sustained minor injuries while taking out all the gunmen. Now, only Blue Wolf and a few of his men remained, with Eust having taken down at lEust a dozen pirates.

Seeing this, Blue Wolf began to flee. His remaining men stood trembling before Eust, forgetting their own cruelty when they plundered. Eust quickly dispatched them and pursued Blue Wolf.

Fighting small fry was pointless. Letting Blue Wolf escape meant he could soon gather a new crew and continue his piracy. Eust wouldn’t allow that.

He needed Lilith’s speed for the chase. Blue Wolf had taken the only small boat, so Eust returned to use his own. Lilith’s speed was impressive, and she soon caught up with Blue Wolf.

Blue Wolf tried to resist but was eventually subdued by Eust.

Eust decided to interrogate Blue Wolf before dealing with him, thinking he might extract useful information.

If you think he wouldn’t talk, knowing his fate, you’d be wrong. Proper intimidation and a few well-placed hits often loosened tongues.

Blue Wolf wasn’t a tough nut. Though skilled and smart, he couldn’t endure pain. Eust learned they had just plundered a village, not taking much money but plenty of supplies. They were celebrating their haul when they spotted Eust’s boats and decided to plunder them too, leading to the recent fight.

Despite his cowardice, Blue Wolf was a wanted pirate, with a bounty of 800,000 Beli for attacking several islands in the Eust Blue.

Eust felt Blue Wolf’s strength didn’t match his bounty, likely inflated due to his gang’s island raids.

Killing Blue Wolf marked Eust’s first business as a bounty hunter. He planned to start his bounty hunting career by taking down wicked pirates and claiming their bounties.

It wasn’t just about the money. It also meant ridding the seas of threats, gaining combat experience, and growing stronger.

Eust hoped to make a name for himself as a bounty hunter, aiming to compete with Zoro in swordsmanship and becoming the greatest swordsman. The thought excited him.

He had no use for the Blue Wolf Pirates’ ship, a hijacked merchant vessel that did not meet his needs and lacked the crew to sail it.

However, the spoils—weapons, money, and supplies—were plentiful. Extra supplies went to Lilith for energy, and the rest were kept as funds for future development.

He preserved Blue Wolf’s head in a box. The 800,000 Beli might be less than the loot’s value but held significant meaning for Eust. Besides, he wouldn’t pass up the reward.

After collecting the loot, Eust left the pirates’ bodies on the ship, writing “Bounty Hunter Eust” on the deck, and sailed away.

The drifting ship eventually reached an island, spreading the news of the Blue Wolf Pirates’ demise and reassuring the locals.

The name Bounty Hunter Eust would also start to spread, potentially attracting people to join him. In the pirate world, reputation can be valuable.
