One Piece Swordsman’s Heart Chapter 2

Rebirth

When Vir opened his eyes, the first thing he saw was a beach and the azure sea.

“I’m alive. This should count as a form of soul possession, right? The simplest form of possession in history, hahaha. But if it works, it works. Indeed, doing something crazy to survive is acceptable, hahaha.”

A child of about 8 or 9 years old on the beach let out a strange laugh.

“So hungry, what’s going on? This kid must have fainted from hunger. I need to find food quickly, or I’ll starve to death!”

Looking around, Vir saw that it wasn’t a deserted island. Not far away, there were tall buildings, and the style looked a bit like a European town.

As Vir slowly walked towards the town, he found that devouring the boy’s soul not only made his own soul complete and younger but also brought along many fragmented memories.

For instance, this body was 9 years old, and this place wasn’t Earth but a town called Loguetown. The language of this world was one he had never heard before.

As he flipped through the memories, Vir felt a sense of familiarity. Loguetown? It sounded familiar. While reviewing the memories, he suddenly came across a fragment: today he turned 9 and heard people say it had been 13 years since Gol D. Roger, the Pirate King, was executed. Then there was a memory of wanting to become a pirate.

“Pirate King? I’ve arrived in the world of One Piece? This world of incredible power, that’s great! I no longer need to be an ordinary person. I can wield a sword and fight. Hahaha, what an exciting piece of news.”

“I must become strong and then travel the world, see various races, battle strong opponents, and taste the world’s delicacies.”

“As for beautiful women, I’ll leave that to fate. I don’t believe that every transmigrator is like a bulldozer with white, creamy brain fluid.”

“Should I join the Navy? Or become a pirate? No, I’ll be an adventurer. I don’t want to be like a certain rubber guy, flying the pirate flag while doing adventurer and Navy things.”

“Right now, it’s not the time to think about this. If I don’t eat soon, I’ll starve to death. But it seems I have no money. What should I do?”

Walking along and pondering, Vir thought about stealing. Robbery wasn’t feasible; he didn’t have the skills. It seemed the only option was theft. Take and run.

After walking for five minutes, Vir finally reached Loguetown. It was morning, and the town was bustling with people. The streets were full of pedestrians, vendors shouting, and various stalls lined the road, making Vir’s stomach growl even more.

He found a skewer stall surrounded by many people waiting for delicious meat skewers. Observing the surroundings, he noticed no one was paying attention. He reached his small sinful hand into an uncle’s pocket in front of him and took out some money without looking closely at how much.

Walking a distance away, he checked the money and saw it was about 1,000 Berries. He didn’t know how many meals that would buy. He found a small restaurant, ordered a bowl of porridge and a plate of pickles, and started eating slowly.

Not knowing how long he had been hungry, suddenly gorging would be suicidal. Vir felt that this body was quite weak, just an ordinary child, so becoming strong would require long-term planning.

First, he needed to stabilize his situation and then figure out how to become stronger. He wondered why those transmigrators in the stories were so impressive, surviving and thriving on deserted islands, becoming strong, and eventually challenging admirals single-handedly. He was sure he wouldn’t see the next day’s sun if he were thrown on a deserted island.

Finishing the bowl of porridge, he was still hungry but not to the point of weakness.

“What should I do now? Let’s look around for workshops that produce ship parts. Although I don’t know shipbuilding, I’m familiar with ship parts. Even though ships from different eras, they should be somewhat understandable.”

After a long search, Vir finally found a shop named Old Red’s Ship Parts.

Entering the small shop filled with various old-style ship parts, he recognized most of them. Behind the counter stood a middle-aged man in his fifties, shirtless, with a rooster comb hairstyle and slightly chubby. He was probably the shop owner.

The middle-aged man said, “Little friend, are you looking to buy something? These are all ship parts.”

Vir thought for a moment and didn’t reveal his true intentions. “Uncle, do you know where the Navy branch is? I was shipwrecked and drifted to this island. I don’t know if I can go back.”

The middle-aged man sighed and asked, “What about your family?”

Vir tried to look sad and didn’t speak, just lowered his head.

Seeing this, the middle-aged man shook his head and asked, “Do you have any other family?”

Vir shook his head, thinking it was enough. He then asked, “Uncle, this shop sells ship parts, right? Can I work for you? I’m very capable. I know how to make these things.”

The middle-aged man was stunned, not quite believing it. “Little friend, lying is not good. Besides, you’re too young. How can I employ you?”

“Uncle, I really can do it. My father used to run a shipyard in Water 7. I learned to make these parts from Uncle Iceburg since I was a child,” Vir said confidently, looking straight at the middle-aged man.

Hearing Water 7, the middle-aged man’s eyes lit up and he asked, “Really? Can you really make these parts? Come to the back workshop and show me. If you can do it, I’ll pay you 3,000 Berries a month.”

In the back workshop, Vir saw some simple machinery. With his university knowledge and previous ship experience, handling these simple machines was too easy. In just a few moves, he produced several parts.

The middle-aged man was delighted. “Not bad at all. What’s your name? From now on, you’ll work here. You can stay in the small room upstairs. I’ll show you later. Also, can you make 200 parts like these every day?”

Vir roughly estimated that 200 parts would take about 3 to 4 hours, which was very good. With a stable place to stay and income, he could start thinking about how to become stronger. He happily agreed and told the middle-aged man his name was Vir and learned the man’s name was Red. He followed Red upstairs to see his room.

The small room was nice, about ten square meters, enough for himself. It had a bed, a cupboard, and a mirror.

Standing in front of the mirror, Vir saw himself for the first time in this world.

He was about 1.2 meters tall, with short black hair and black eyes, looking like an ordinary kid. He probably hadn’t grown yet. The only notable feature was his smile, which made him seem a bit mentally unstable, making people want to keep their distance.

In short, Vir’s adventure in the world of One Piece was about to begin. It was truly exciting, hahaha.

My name is Vir, and I come from Earth.

I am an adventurer, not a pirate, Vir emphasized his identity while standing atop a pile of navy corpses on the battlefield at Marineford, facing Sengoku with a grim expression.
