Vir hung up the phone, smiling. Although Sengoku hadn’t explicitly agreed to make him a Shichibukai, it was close enough. Vir had subtly threatened Sengoku, and his strength was undeniable.
As for killing the Vice Admiral, Vir wasn’t too concerned. Worse things had happened, especially with him around.
Vir claimed to know a lot about the Navy, which implied that he could potentially reveal those secrets. With Sengoku’s wisdom, he would understand this.
But Vir couldn’t understand why Sengoku had so obviously tried to extract information from him.
Oh well, if he couldn’t figure it out, he’d stop thinking about it. If Sengoku had any ulterior motives, he would find out eventually. As long as he was strong enough, he could handle any conspiracy.
Vir checked his pocket watch; it was almost midnight. He decided to find Bepo, but he had one more thing to do first: recover the torture tools from Crocodile. After all, they were a gift from his Second Senior Sister.
Approaching Crocodile, he found the man still alive. Before retrieving the tools, he glanced at Robin, who was standing in the corner.
“Hey, ‘little cat’ over there, you’d better leave now. What happens next might leave you with some psychological scars,” Vir kindly warned Robin. Although recovering the tools wasn’t as gruesome as the actual torture, Robin, with her strong exterior but fragile interior, might not handle it well.
Robin didn’t move or speak, silently resisting Vir and showing no intention of leaving. Seeing his advice had no effect, Vir began recovering the tools.
The process was brutal, waking the unconscious Crocodile with sheer pain. His mouth opened wide, as if silently screaming to the heavens.
Robin, witnessing the scene, had her legs give way and slowly slumped to the ground, leaning against the wall.
It was clear that Robin was truly terrified. Her eyes were misty, but she held back her tears with remarkable strength.
After about ten minutes, Vir finally finished recovering the tools. He carefully wiped them clean and even disinfected them with a special solution Bepo had invented, which Vir always carried with him.
Packing up the tools, Vir took the Shichibukai’s special Den Den Mushi and the fine wines on his back, ready to find Bepo.
Just as he reached the entrance of Rain Dinners, his electromagnetic barrier sensed someone approaching from behind. Vir knew it was Robin but paid no attention.
Unexpectedly, Robin grabbed the back of his shirt.
Vir turned around, looking at the pale-faced, tearful girl.
“Is there something you need, Robin?” Vir’s tone softened, seeing how scared Robin was.
“Tell me where the Poneglyph is. You must know. You know so much about the Navy’s secrets; you must know the location of the Poneglyph,” Robin’s voice was small and trembling, clearly terrified of Vir, but she forced herself to stop him for the sake of her pursuit.
Vir didn’t speak, carefully observing the girl. If he had only liked Robin’s character in the anime, he now found himself quite admiring her.
Although her actions were a bit reckless and childish, if it hadn’t been Vir today but another enemy, Robin might already be dead.
“Don’t worry, Robin. You will find it. The time won’t be long,” Vir said and turned to leave.
But Robin’s grip on his shirt remained tight, her slender fingers turning white.
Seeing Robin’s pitiful state, Vir felt a rare pang of guilt for deceiving such a kawaii girl.
Looking at the silent Robin, Vir spoke again.
“Do you really want to know where the Poneglyph is? Do you really think you can go to those places now?” Vir said, gently pushing Robin’s hand away and sitting on the steps of Rain Dinners, back facing her, taking out a bottle of wine and continuing to drink.
“I can. No matter where, I can reach it,” Robin’s voice was stubborn and resolute.
“You can’t. Don’t think that just because you’ve been on the run for a few years, you understand the darkness and danger of this world. In this sea, you’re just a fledgling.
You don’t even have a proper ship. How will you search for the Poneglyph? Not to mention the dangers at sea. How much do you know about navigation? How will you handle food on the sea? What if you encounter powerful enemies? What if you get sick? Wait for death?
Kid, you don’t understand the harshness of the sea. The scariest thing isn’t the weather but the people on the sea,” Vir said, taking a large swig of wine. He didn’t know why he was telling Robin all this.
Maybe it was because today’s Robin was different from the one in the original story, touching him in some way?
Robin bit her lip, unable to refute because she didn’t know how.
“I know the locations of at least four Poneglyphs. Even if I tell you now, what can you do? One of them is a certain death even for me. Telling you now would only add to your worries. Keep waiting and enduring. Maybe one day, you’ll realize your pursuit isn’t history but something else,” Vir said, turning and walking away, drinking heavily as he went.
Robin stood stunned, watching Vir leave without stopping him. Vir had given her too much information, leaving her mind in chaos.
As Vir walked far away, he turned back to sneak a glance at Robin and then laughed heartily.
Today, he had put on quite a performance, leaving Robin utterly confused.
He could still faintly see Robin’s figure at the entrance of Rain Dinners, seemingly lost in thought.
Vir’s mood improved. He wasn’t teasing Robin but wanted this tragic girl to stay in Alabasta, waiting for Luffy to bring her light.
Vir knew his nature. Saying he killed without batting an eye was an understatement. If he had crossed into an ancient war world, he would be at the level of a mass murderer.
Luckily, he came to the world of pirates and fortunately joined Isshin Dojo.
Vir suddenly remembered his days as an assassin, back when he was sixteen. He had just completed a mission, preparing to clean up the scene.
During the cleanup, he encountered a beautiful woman. Seeing Vir, who looked like a god of death, she made a clever decision despite trembling in fear.
She stripped naked and tried to seduce Vir with her beautiful body.
Vir, ambushed by this wild beauty, lost his first time.
From start to finish, Vir never knew the woman’s name, nor did he ask, and she never told.
But that beautiful woman was the only survivor in the target’s castle.
