One Piece Swordsman’s Heart Chapter 57

The Strange Island

The next morning, Vir and Bepo left Alabasta.

Vir took out the Log Pose he had gotten from Dr. Crocus. This Pose would indicate the route Luffy and his crew would eventually take.

So Vir threw it on the ground and smashed it with his foot.

If he already knew the route, would it still be an adventure? How could he call himself an adventurer?

He adjusted his course to follow a new Log Pose.

This Pose was something he had just bought from Alabasta that morning. Locking in the direction, he continued his sea adventure.

Vir noticed that his recent progress in strength had been somewhat slow. His swordsmanship couldn’t improve much in a short time. At his level, progress required time and honing, not just sudden insights.

As for Armament Haki and physical techniques, he was doing much better. He felt a significant increase in the quality and coverage speed of his Armament Haki recently, so he needed to accumulate and refine it further.

Regarding physical techniques, thanks to the “Thunder Stab Method,” his growth was steady.

So if Vir wanted to enhance his strength, he had to develop new moves. He felt that his current techniques were lagging behind his power, such as “Swallow Return.”

Now, Swallow Return was just a regular move for him, with the only drawback being some physical exertion. Thus, Vir needed a more powerful sword technique than Swallow Return.

Although he had some ideas, one of them was too difficult, and he wasn’t sure if it was feasible. So Vir decided to try the simpler one first and headed to the training room.

The walls here were made of special metal and could be disassembled and replaced. As long as Vir didn’t excessively damage the ship, there wouldn’t be any issues.

Vir drew “Intent Blood” and channeled electricity into the two special hollow metal balls beneath the sword hilt. The blue balls inside the hollow metal started absorbing the electricity.

After absorbing a small amount of electricity, the blue balls turned into tiny thunderballs, surrounded by lightning.

Vir then channeled a large amount of electricity into the two swords until they both turned silver-blue.

He threw the two swords into the air, making them spin rapidly around the hollow metal balls as the center, but it wasn’t over yet.

Vir generated two balls of lightning in his hands, and after they formed, the blue metal balls on the sword hilts shone even brighter, resonating with the lightning in Vir’s hands.

Vir attempted to control the two silver-blue sword wheels, which was easy, but he could only control their direction. Their flight speed was fast, and their cutting ability was strong, but their agility was average.

Vir named this new technique “Wheel of Blood.”

This ability was based on an old trick. Previously, he used electromagnetic attraction for retrieval, but now he added repulsion.

Also, the blue metal balls on the Intent Blood’s hilt could store electricity, making it easier for Vir to control Intent Blood.

Though this ability looked impressive, it had many drawbacks and was only suitable for group battles, clearing out small fry.

Vir needed to control the cutting of the sword wheels very precisely, so he couldn’t move too quickly, or the electromagnetic force would be disrupted, causing the technique to fail. Moreover, the ability wasn’t very flexible.

This ability was purely for fulfilling a dream, with little practical combat value.

It was fine for mowing down weaklings, but using it against strong opponents was a death wish. The lack of flexibility alone meant that Vir would be easily beaten by an opponent of the same level.

The other technique he had in mind was his real trump card, but it needed to be developed successfully first.

So Vir plunged back into intense training. Besides eating, sleeping, and training Bepo, he focused on developing new techniques.

After a month of tireless effort, he hadn’t succeeded in developing the new ability but discovered a new island.

This island was the most peculiar he had ever seen in the world of One Piece, or even in his life.

The island’s shape was highly unusual, being a ring with a gap on one side. In the center of the island, instead of land, there was a sea—a pitch-black sea occupying most of the island’s area.

From a distance, it looked like a drop of black ink had fallen into the ocean, with the surrounding island encircling it, but with a gap that seemed to welcome travelers into the dark sea.

Vir didn’t sail into the black sea, as it felt wrong just looking at it. He couldn’t pinpoint why.

The lack of any ships on that sea alone was suspicious.

Vir approached the island from another direction, avoiding the gap.

He found that the entire island was surrounded by docks, except for the gap, which puzzled him.

Building a dock wasn’t cheap, let alone so many.

Moreover, the island’s surroundings were packed with ships of all kinds: Navy, pirates, merchant guilds, and some flags he had never seen, and many ships without flags at all.

As he got closer, Vir noticed that there were no buildings on the island, only a bunch of tents.

This made Vir even more curious. What was going on here?

Could it be the legendary treasure coming to light, attracting all these people?

Impossible. This was the world of pirates. Apart from Devil Fruits, everything else had some scientific basis. Treasures like those in fairy tales wouldn’t appear.

Vir decided to stop guessing and went ashore to see for himself.

Calling out to Bepo, he looked for a place to dock and prepared to go ashore.

After a while, Vir frustratingly realized that there were simply too many ships, with no place to dock.

Back in his previous life, he had experienced places with no parking spots. Now, in the world of One Piece, there were no docking spots? Should he just leave his ship at the shore?

But the distance to the island was too far. If he docked here, he would have to pass through dozens of ships to reach the island.

This showed how immense the number of ships around the island was.

Only swordsmanship and Haki, no chaotic Devil Fruit abilities.

A master swordsman doesn't possess a merciful or naive heart.

My name is Vir, and I come from Earth.

In the world of One Piece, I savor the cuisine of various regions and battle with all sorts of powerful adversaries.

I am an adventurer, not a pirate, Vir emphasized his identity while standing atop a pile of navy corpses on the battlefield at Marineford, facing Sengoku with a grim expression.
