The Pirate: Dark Admiral Chapter 11

The Celestial Dragon's Admirer

As a guardian of “justice,” the Marine G2 Branch naturally couldn’t be situated in any particular country, which would compromise their absolute neutrality.

Thus, the sight before Rougishu Hyuga was an independent ring-shaped island. The seagull flag, symbolizing peace, fluttered in the wind, surrounded by warships and massive cannons. Ahead, the bustling crowds and constant activity gave life to what should have been the solemn and dignified Marine base, all thanks to the month-long global recruitment drive.

It’s essential to understand that there are only nine Marine bases in the Grand Line. Unlike the four seas’ branches, which have ranks three levels lower than the main base and whose highest rank is only Captain (equivalent to a First Lieutenant in the main base), the Grand Line’s Marine bases are directly under the main base, with equivalent rank structures.

In terms of scale, the Marine G2 Branch far surpasses those smaller branches in the four seas. According to Rougishu’s information, this single branch boasts a Vice Admiral, five Rear Admirals, and twenty Commodores, suppressing a vast sea area that includes dozens of surrounding countries.

Thus, when Louis’s fleet ceremoniously delivered Rougishu to the G2 Branch, it miraculously didn’t attract much attention. Even the patrolling Marine soldiers kept their eyes straight ahead, likely assuming Rougishu was just another second-generation kid coming to the Marines for a gilded experience.

Without real skills, most of these brats would cry home soon enough. They’ve seen it all before and had no reason to pay much attention.

Moreover, the so-called noble lineage or royal background means nothing here. What national power could compare to the Marines, the most potent force suppressing the Grand Line?

The only thing that piqued their interest was that the young boy disembarking from the main ship seemed extraordinarily young. Perhaps this fleet’s country was in turmoil, sending off the offspring of some bigwigs for political asylum.

As Rougishu disappeared into the crowd, Louis sighed deeply. “The Marines are strong for a reason. Their commitment to the ideal of justice attracts countless rising stars like Rougishu Hyuga. But… will the World Government allow the Marines to continue growing stronger? How long can peace and stability last on these seas?”

He then shook his head. “Ha! Why am I, a small fry, worrying about such things? Better to hurry back to the kingdom and deal with Azka’s threat. They broke the rules by hiring pirates, and I haven’t even settled that score yet!”

Standing beside him, Tina wasn’t too downhearted. She gazed into the crowd with hopeful eyes, silently vowing, “Strength and a determination to uphold justice? I will follow in Rougishu Hyuga big brother’s footsteps and join the Marines too!”

Rougishu curiously observed his surroundings. Having spent three years in this world, it was his first time seeing such vibrant crowds and bustling towns, as if he’d stepped from a tribal era into a feudal dynasty.

Before long, Rougishu found a hotel and checked in.

“Excuse me, could you tell me about the world recruitment process?” Rougishu handed over two 1000 Beli notes as he asked.

The attendant initially looked impatient but smiled broadly, pocketing the generous tip. “Why, of course, sir. If you have any questions, I’m here to help!”

Though he said that, he had already honestly pocketed the tip, his face full of eagerness to assist.

“The world recruitment lasts for a month, with a round every three days to accommodate those from more remote areas. It’s only been ten days, so there’s plenty of time. Just wait two more days for the fourth round of recruitment.”

“Also, the Marine selection mainly screens out those unfit in terms of physical condition. With your strong physique, it should be a mere formality.”

The attendant glanced at Rougishu with a hint of fear, not understanding why this seemingly young face gave him an overwhelming sense of authority.

Rougishu nodded slightly. This was understandable. Unlike the CP organization or pirate crews, the Marines relied not only on top-tier combatants like Admirals but also on elite soldiers spread across the seas. They couldn’t set an entry threshold too high, like the elite selection.

Moreover, with the Marines conducting large-scale recruitment, if they included tests for strength, speed, and physique or individual and team combat trials, more than a year would be needed.

Thus, despite the exquisite nature of global recruitment, the selection process was quite simple. They could quickly pass as long as one had no physical defects or fitness issues.

“Ah!”

Suddenly, commotion and disturbance echoed from the street, causing Rougishu to frown and look out the window. The already congested street was now jam-packed with people. The urge to watch a spectacle was universal across worldrlds.

“Someone causing trouble in the Marine base?” Rougishu asked.

“This sea never lacks fools, especially recently, with many self-important idiots joining in. Such scenes, rarely seen before, have become more frequent.”

The attendant sneered. “Sir, just take this as a joke. Soon enough, patrol guards will throw the troublemakers out. You might even get to see those usually high-and-mighty nobles wet their pants in fear.”

“Really?” Rougishu’s sharp eyes pierced through the crowd, assessing the situation.

A pale-faced, shaky nobleman stood arrogantly upright. However, his body, weakened by excesses, made this stance look almost comical.

Before him was a tall, muscular man, now prostrate on the ground, using his broad back to shield a small child. Despite being kicked and punched by lackeys, he remained silent as if the blows were mere raindrops.
