The Pirate: Dark Admiral Chapter 44

Robin's Unstoppable Path to Kicking Below the Belt

“Hehe! You dared to deceive me, old man; you sure have some guts!” The red-haired pirate captain whistled, bent down, and pointed the black muzzle of his gun at Captain Jones’ forehead.

“Don’t kill me, don’t kill me!” Captain Jones let out a long, piercing scream so loud that it made the red-haired pirate captain frown. The pressure on Jones’ head increased.

“Shut up, old fool!”

“Yes, yes! I’ll shut up, I’ll shut up.”

“If you’ve scared away so many pirates using this trick before, it means this ship is still a virgin territory. Over the years, you must have accumulated a lot of treasure, right?” The red-haired pirate captain leaned closer and whispered into Captain Jones’ ear.

“Well…”

“Hmm?”

“Of course, of course! Only the mighty Captain Jack deserves such wealth!” Captain Jones cautiously asked, “But if we hand over the treasures, will the mighty and wise Captain Jack spare us?”

“Old man, are you trying to threaten me?” The red-haired pirate captain sneered and pulled the trigger. A bullet instantly pierced Jones’ leg.

“Ahhh!” Captain Jones screamed like a slaughtered pig, scaring even some pirates.

“No one on this sea dares to negotiate with Captain Jack, got it?”

“Yes, got it! All the treasures on the ship have been converted into gold and hidden in the wall of the captain’s cabin.”

“Heh! You’re quite crafty, huh? But since you’re so understanding, I’ll give you a quick death. Remember to thank Captain Jack for his generosity in the afterlife!”

As the black muzzle aimed at his eyes again, Jones couldn’t reprimand the pirate for not keeping his word. He desperately shouted, “You can’t kill me! If you kill me, none of you will survive!”

“Oh? Don’t tell me you’re some king’s illegitimate son, and killing you will bring an army?” The red-haired pirate captain pretended to be scared, then mocked, “Oh right, given your age, you’d more likely be the illegitimate father of some king, right?”

“Hahahaha!” The other pirates burst into laughter.

“You, you… I’m not joking! There’s a real big shot on this ship. If he’s disturbed, we’re all dead!” Jones’s voice was filled with genuine fear as if recalling a nightmare.

“A real big shot? Is it the Pirate King Roger, Whitebeard Newgate, or the new Marine Fleet Admiral Sengoku?” The red-haired pirate captain yawned.

Captain Jones cursed inwardly, “Are all new pirates this arrogant now? Talking about Pirate Kings and Fleet Admirals, you must be dreaming!”

“That person is known as the traveler from hell—Demon Sword Rougishu!” Jones’ voice weakened threefold. Despite Rougishu’s fearsome reputation, he had only risen to prominence a year ago, far behind the legendary figures the red-haired pirate mentioned.

“Rougishu? The murderer calling himself a traveler in the newspapers?” Robin shuddered. She had heard about him from the Black Clothing Pirates, who didn’t dare confront him directly, even using her as a bargaining chip for protection.

“Old man, you shouldn’t be a captain. With your storytelling ability, you’d be better off as a third-rate entertainer,” the red-haired pirate captain mocked, patting Jones’ cheek.

“I’m not making this up! That lord is staying in the foremost first-class cabin!” Jones urgently explained.

“Enough! I don’t care if it’s true or not. Even if that so-called adventurer is here, I’ll send him back to hell!”

Bang!

A bullet pierced Jones’ skull, and the chubby captain fell with wide-open eyes, unable to believe his end.

“Ah!”

Seeing the deck stained with blood, panic spread among the passengers. Many quickly covered their mouths, fearing to attract the pirates’ attention, but it was too late.

“Captain, what about these people?” a green-haired, rooster-headed pirate asked, licking his lips.

“Kill them all! I’m a man of my word. I said if they resisted, I’d slaughter everyone on this ship. I always keep my promises!” the red-haired captain declared nonchalantly.

“Hehe, got it! I’ll make sure they die peacefully!”

The pirates’ conversation wasn’t calm. The passengers heard every word. A middle-aged man dressed as a noble stepped forward, stammering, “You… you must be joking? We still have value. We can pay the ransom. Please don’t…”

Bang!

“Who cares about your nonsense?” The green-haired pirate blew smoke from his gun, shouting excitedly, “Run! Why aren’t you running? Hunting is more fun if you run!”

Realising the pirates were determined to massacre them, the passengers scattered in panic.

“Help! Someone save us!”

“Damn pirates, I’ll fight you to the death!”

“Jump into the sea! If we’re lucky, we might reach an island.”

Huddled in a corner, Robin’s face turned pale. Having just escaped one hell, she was falling into another. Was she the devil child bringing misfortune to everyone around her?

“No, I can’t die like this. I promised to live on for Mom. I must live better than anyone else!” Robin wiped her tears and hesitantly looked at the sea.

“It’s no use. Jumping in the sea might save others, but I’m a Devil Fruit user. Jumping in is suicide. Maybe…”

“Hey, little girl, hiding here?” A greasy pirate grinned at Robin, his smile becoming twisted.

“Such a cute kid, it’d be a waste to kill you. Maybe… Oh, oh, oh!”

The pirate collapsed, clutching his groin in agony, his eyes rolling back.

“No time left. I must try!” Determined, Robin dashed forward, using her petite size to weave through the chaos, but the pirates noticed her.

With pirates closing in, she had no choice. She shut her eyes and crashed into the door the fat captain mentioned.

“I’m… I’m not dead?” Leaning against the door, Robin breathed heavily, relieved.

Suddenly, a melodic tune filled the room.

Looking up, Robin saw a man with a ghostly mask lounging lazily in a chair, a phonograph playing music on the table before him.

“Is… is he Rougishu?” Robin was stunned. This relaxed figure didn’t match the cold-blooded killer she imagined.

This is not a weakling story; it's high-energy and somewhat simple, but the characters should have reasonable intelligence!
