The Pirate: Dark Admiral Chapter 5

Slaughter Beneath the Ugly Truth

But the black mist didn’t give up. Instead, it merged with Allen’s innate power, extending his senses across the island.

The next moment, the villagers’ conversations entered Allen’s ears.

“What do we do? The Ominous Moon is coming, are we all going to die?”

“Don’t worry, the High Priest said she would use that demon as a sacrifice to the gods to quell their anger.”

“That monster who can peer into people’s hearts? Good riddance. A creature like that shouldn’t exist in this world.”

“But… Allen has helped us so much with his ability…”

“Easy for you to say. Would you want to live alongside such a monster?”

“Cough, cough. By the way, does sacrificing really work? Why have I never heard of this before?”

“Who knows? But the High Priest wouldn’t lie to us, right?”

Allen’s expression remained unchanged. He had always known how the villagers viewed him, even if they never said it to his face.

His senses continued to stretch out, and the conversation from the upper levels of the temple projected before Allen.

“Allen… what a waste. With his talent, I had intended to train him to be our strongest warrior!”

“Chief, you and I both know the tribe’s strength is no longer enough to fend off the increasingly rampant pirates. We can’t wait for him to grow up. Even if he possesses what the outsiders call Kenbunshoku Haki, what’s the point if we can’t use it?”

“It’s such a pity. Even after traveling the seas for years, I’ve never encountered such talent. What’s more, despite being ostracized and suspected because of his ability to see into hearts, he never wavered in his desire to help everyone!”

“Humph! Blame it on fate’s unfairness. Why, after guarding the world for thousands of years, must our tribe face extinction? Rather than let the Seven-Star Sword fall into the hands of pirates, it’s better to sacrifice Allen to it. Perhaps we can gain control over the sword’s power and rise in the seas!”

“High Priest, after thinking it over, let’s forget about it. The Seven-Star Sword is not something humans can control. Coveting darkness will bring disaster and misfortune.”

“Chief, do you think we can turn back now? Besides, if Allen finds out we sold his sister to a slaver’s ship, even his kindness won’t stop him from wanting to kill us!”

“Sla… slaver’s ship?” At this moment, Allen’s soul flickered like a candle in a storm, the flame surging and dimming.

And the conversation in the temple continued.

“I… I was blinded by greed at the time and did such a thing. Maybe if we apologize, that good child Allen will forgive us?”

“Haha, Chief, you’re such a hypocrite! But I won’t stand in front of that monster again. If I hadn’t forced myself to stay calm, the slaver’s ship thing would have been exposed long ago. I don’t want to go through that terror again…”

“Slaver’s ship… slaver’s ship… hahaha! How laughable! I hate myself for my stupidity, for my incompetence…” Blood tears streamed from Allen’s eyes as he knelt in agony, leaving claw marks on the hard rock.

“Go… take the sword from the coffin. It will give you the power for revenge!” The ethereal voice of the black mist sounded again.

Like a walking corpse, Allen approached the stone coffin and drew the Seven-Star Sword.

A terrifying soul storm instantly shredded Allen’s consciousness, but his unwavering belief prevented the sword from completely overwhelming him.

At this moment, a soul from another world merged into Allen, fighting for control of his body.

Hatred and the will to survive are the strongest forces in the world, intertwined and battled, ultimately fusing into a new soul.

Boom!

The temple doors were violently broken open. The Chief and High Priest stared in shock at Allen, who emerged from the lower level, holding the long sword. The desire for slaughter and destruction in his eyes almost froze their souls.

“That… that’s the Seven-Star Sword! Allen, you actually drew it! Wonderful, give me the Seven-Star Sword quickly!” Greed overcame fear as the Chief, eyes gleaming, walked toward Allen.

“Gulp!” The High Priest averted her eyes, not daring to meet Allen’s gaze. The cold sweat on her back brought clarity, realising the situation was not as they had imagined.

“I heard it all. The slaver’s ship!” Allen’s steps were slow, the sword tip dragging on the ground, effortlessly cutting through the stone without a sound or spark.

The Chief’s eyes widened, remembering the High Priest’s warning. Cold sweat poured down his face. “It’s a misunderstanding, all a misunderstanding! Allen, believe me, I intended to train you to be the tribe’s strongest warrior… Ah!”

An arm fell, and the Chief clutched his head with his remaining left hand, screaming in agony as if enduring unspeakable pain.

The High Priest shivered in fear and confusion. Why was the Chief holding his head despite losing an arm?

Quickly, she realised the Chief’s suffering. The pain was deep in his soul, like countless insects gnawing at him. The pain of losing an arm paled in comparison.

The most terrifying part was that Allen seemed in no hurry to kill them but intended to let them die in agony.

“Is that… the Chief and High Priest’s voices?”

“What’s happening in the temple? Let’s go in quickly!”

Allen raised the Seven-Star Sword, a cruel smile on his lips.

Soon, blood flowed out of the temple, spreading to the village and covering the entire island.

The slaughter continued!

The night was still long!

Three days later, over a dozen pirate ships docked at the shore.

“Boss, is the legend of the cursed Holy Sword true?”

“Hahaha! Idiot, of course, it’s fake. Do you believe those bedtime stories? If such a thing existed, the pirates who visited this island before us would have found it. Why would it be our turn?”

“Uh? Then why are we here?”

“To pick up the scraps, of course. In a village with such a long history, there might be hidden treasures. And these villagers have fought pirates for years. Let’s see if we can recruit some cannon fodder!”

“Hey, Boss, you’re really smart… Ugh! What’s that smell?”

“Gulp!” The pirate captain’s Adam’s apple bobbed as he mustered the courage to move forward. “It should be the smell of blood. But… such a thick scent, could it be that everything on this island is dead?”

“Cap… Captain, maybe we shouldn’t go in…”

“Idiot, we’re fierce pirates. How can we back down here?”

Half a moment later, all the pirates fled back in terror, many developing a phobia of blood, with some even going mad. None dared to mention being a pirate again.

Soon, the story of the mass extinction on Asca Island spread, shaking the seas. The World Government classified it as a pirate massacre, fueling a strong anti-pirate sentiment across the seas.
