The Pirate: Dark Admiral Chapter 52

Ugly Rougishu

The sea is vast for fish to leap, and the sky is high for birds to fly.

For some reason, looking at the vast and majestic ocean, Rougishu suddenly recalled lines from a “poem” in the memory of that otherworldly soul.

“If the starting point for pirates is the New World, then the starting point for the navy is Marineford. Only by stepping into there can one truly understand this world and truly begin my journey!”

“Rougishu… Vice Admiral Garp…” Hearing the laughter and chatter around him, Rougishu frowned. What connection was there between the two?

“What are you all talking about?” Rougishu stepped forward and asked.

Gregory laughed, “I almost forgot, Boss. You just returned from deep-sea training and boarded this ship to the headquarters. It’s normal that you don’t know about the major events that happened recently.”

“By the way, Boss, do you know about a person named Rougishu?”

“Rougishu, I know him, a somewhat famous swordsman on the Grand Line,” Rougishu said without revealing his emotions.

“Boss, he’s not just somewhat famous,” Gregory said with an exaggerated expression.

“Ten years ago, the great pirate Crushed Skull Buffett, who retreated from the Grand Line, was killed by Rougishu at his base in the West Blue.”

“Buffett was once a great pirate with a bounty of 120 million Berries, leading a mafia with thousands of members. But this massive force was wiped out by Rougishu alone.”

“I heard that the scene was so bloody and brutal that many high-ranking navy officers considered him extremely dangerous and even debated whether to put a bounty on him. But I think what he did was truly satisfying!”

“It’s ironic, knowing those pirates who retreated from the Grand Line are no good, yet the government, to stabilize the situation, ignored them. In the end, it took a bounty hunter to deal with them. It’s a disgrace to the navy!”

“Gregory, keep your voice down. It’s fine to vent to us, but if you talk like this at the headquarters, be careful not to be overheard by the government’s CP organizations,” Abraham warned.

“Got it, got it!” Gregory waved impatiently.

“But what does this have to do with Vice Admiral Garp?”

“Oh, it’s like this! Because Rougishu killed Buffett, who was actually an ally of the great pirate Chinjao, whom Vice Admiral Garp once defeated, so…”

Rougishu’s mouth twitched slightly. Were they forcibly connecting the two?

“Chinjao the Drill was once a great pirate with a bounty of over 500 million Berries. Compared to him, Buffett is just a novice pirate. But Rougishu dared to kill his ally’s son; it’s beyond reckless!” Abraham continued.

“Because of him, Chinjao has come out of retirement and declared that he will kill Rougishu in the most brutal way.”

“Rougishu’s abilities seem unusually eerie, likely related to a Devil Fruit he ate recently. There’s internal talk about classifying him as a combination of a Devil Fruit user and a swordsman.”

“Looks like he’s caused quite a stir.” Rougishu nodded slightly. He had deliberately left a witness to let Rougishu’s “Devil Fruit user” identity spread naturally.

Though Rougishu and Rougishu’s souls felt different through Observation Haki, their fighting styles, physical techniques, and swordsmanship were worlds apart. Even the face under the mask had been reshaped to resemble that of the otherworldly soul. He still wanted to give that identity a distinct mark.

“Rougishu’s decisive killing style has actually attracted many admirers, especially young girls who are fascinated by the mysterious and eerie ghost face mask. They often fantasize about the face beneath it,” Gregory suddenly smirked mischievously, “But I bet that Rougishu’s face under the mask is hideous, maybe with two mouths and four nostrils. Otherwise, why… Huh? Why does it suddenly feel cold? Is it getting chilly?”

Pooh-oo-oh-oh-oh~~~

Hearing the strange sound, Rougishu took the Den Den Mushi out of his pocket and placed it in his hand.

“Boss, why does your Den Den Mushi sound like that? Is it sick or seasick?” Gregory asked dumbly.

“Idiot, that’s the emergency signal. Someone is calling for help!” Abraham said irritably.

“Oh! I remember now. Some people in our navy like to use this setup to lay traps. Once connected, if eavesdropped, the enemy would know we’ve entered the signal range!” Gregory realised, then looked curiously at the crying Den Den Mushi. “So, are these the pirates imitating us?”

“This Den Den Mushi is specially made by the Navy Headquarters. The emergency signal it receives is limited to the same type of Den Den Mushi,” Rougishu explained quickly, then picked up the receiver.

“So, this is actually a distress call from our navy?” Gregory’s tone grew serious.

As soon as the receiver was picked up, urgent words came from the other end, “Whichever navy unit this is, please come to our aid quickly. If you delay any longer, Commodore Morgan won’t hold out!”

Gregory and the others exchanged looks, seeing the gravity in each other’s eyes. It was rare for a commodore to struggle against an enemy in the first half of the Grand Line.

Rougishu spoke calmly, “Don’t panic. Tell me your location and the enemy’s numbers, and we’ll be there soon.”

“We’re in the Costea Sea between Doa Island and Chain Island. The enemies are Scorpion Forman with a bounty of 72 million Berries and Blade Joseph with a bounty of 81 million Berries.”

Rougishu nodded slightly. Commodore Morgan was undoubtedly more potent than the useless Commodore Adkin to hold off these two.

“If you don’t have the strength of at least five navy ships, please alert nearby naval fleets quickly. We’ll do our best to hold out until reinforcements arrive!” The navy personnel on the other end seemed determined to avoid dragging their allies into danger.

Snap!

After hanging up, Gregory and the others looked at Rougishu and said, “Boss, what should we do? We’ll follow your lead.”

“If the enemies are just two pirates with bounties around 80 million, it shouldn’t be too difficult, but the exact situation is unclear, so we must proceed with caution.”

“Gregory, take me over first. If the situation is as stated, I can save them in time. If things are beyond control, I can easily escape.”

“Boss, what about us?”

“Catch up as quickly as possible, but stay in contact with me. Only move in when I give the order, understand?”

“Understood! Major Rougishu!”

This book has no Devil Fruits and no system; the title has no relation to the Dark-Dark Fruit!

This is not a weakling story; it's high-energy and somewhat simple, but the characters should have reasonable intelligence!
