Naka Shrine.
This sacred site of the Uchiha clan had turned into a chaotic mess. The main hall and surrounding walls were in ruins, a massive ten-meter-wide crater marred the ground, and torii gates and trees lay strewn about.
First, the shrine had been flooded, then set ablaze, transforming from its former grandeur into a scene of utter destruction.
The culprit behind this devastation was now surrounded by the elite members of the Uchiha clan.
“Clan leader!”
Uchiha Tekka quickly reported the situation to Fugaku and the gathered Uchiha clansmen, detailing their enemy: the Second Hokage, Tobirama Senju, revived through the Reanimation Jutsu.
Reanimated Second Hokage?
Upon hearing this, the Uchiha were shocked. Their Sharingan eyes glowed and they drew their kunai and swords, glaring at Tobirama.
Tobirama’s expression was grave. Facing Tekka and Chisaki had already been challenging. Without his immortal Reanimated body, he would have been killed.
Now, with the arrival of Fugaku and Itachi, Tobirama faced four Uchiha Mangekyo Sharingan users, in addition to many other Uchiha Jonin.
He had underestimated the Uchiha. He had thought the only one worth his attention was the Sixth Hokage, Uchiha Dan. Now, he realized this clan was full of formidable fighters.
Breaking the silence, Fugaku stepped forward and sternly asked, “Who revived you? Or rather, am I speaking to the Second Hokage Tobirama Senju, or the controller of the Reanimation Jutsu?”
A reanimated being was usually a puppet, controlled by the one who cast the jutsu. Fugaku was well aware of this.
Tobirama, wary of the Uchiha’s potential attacks, gave a straightforward answer, “It was Hiruzen Sarutobi, the Third Hokage, who revived me. But don’t be alarmed, as I have yet to decide whether I am an enemy to the Uchiha.”
Hearing this, Tekka laughed coldly, “You destroyed the Uchiha’s Naka Shrine and killed innocent civilians, and you call that not being an enemy?”
Tobirama shook his head, looking resigned, “I’ve already explained, I merely came to see the legendary stone tablet left by the Sage of Six Paths. The injured civilians were an unintended consequence…”
“Enough.”
Fugaku cut him off, his voice stern, “It doesn’t matter who you are or why you came to Konoha. You will come with us to the interrogation room.”
He intended to control Tobirama and extract more information.
Of course, Tobirama had no intention of complying. He shrugged and refused, “Sorry, I don’t have time for that today.”
He wasn’t looking for a fight.
Facing four Uchiha Mangekyo Sharingan users and numerous Uchiha Jonin, even someone known as the “Uchiha Nemesis” like Tobirama stood no chance. He had no intention of showing off his skills. As soon as he finished speaking, he formed a hand seal and…
Vanished.
Almost simultaneously, black flames appeared where Tobirama had stood, burning fiercely and making the air crackle.
Amaterasu.
Too late, he escaped?
Fugaku frowned, dismissing the Amaterasu flames.
“It was the Flying Thunder God Technique,” Itachi stated. Although the Uchiha generally despised the Second Hokage, they couldn’t deny Tobirama’s mastery of ninjutsu.
His Reanimation Jutsu had been used by the Uchiha to revive Shisui and many deceased clan members. And the Flying Thunder God Technique, a unique space-time jutsu, was nearly akin to teleportation.
With it, Tobirama’s ability to escape was unparalleled in the ninja world. Once he decided to flee, no one could stop him.
More concerning was—
“Since Hiruzen Sarutobi revived the Second Hokage, it’s likely the First and Fourth Hokage were also revived. They might be hiding in the village, ready to attack again,” Fugaku stated gravely. He immediately ordered some to treat the injured and others to notify the police force and ANBU, putting Konoha on high alert.
Most importantly—
“Itachi, go to the Hokage’s office and inform the Sixth Hokage,” Fugaku instructed.
“No need,” Tekka explained, “Chisaki and I were sent here on the Sixth Hokage’s orders. He’s already aware of everything.”
I see.
Fugaku sighed in relief, feeling reassured.
“Where is the Sixth Hokage now? Is he dealing with the First and Fourth Hokage himself?” Itachi speculated, still slightly concerned.
Minato Namikaze, the Fourth Hokage, was known as the Yellow Flash, the only one to master and improve the Flying Thunder God Technique. The First Hokage, the legendary Ninja God, had been an invincible figure in his time, akin to Dan.
Even for Dan, facing these two required the utmost caution.
At that moment—
“I sense the Sixth Hokage’s chakra nearby, at Training Ground No. 5,” a Uchiha Jonin named Oda, a sensor type, reported.
“Let’s go support him!”
Fugaku led the way towards Training Ground No. 5, followed closely by Itachi, Tekka, and Chisaki.
Training Ground No. 5.
“Tsunade getting so close to Uchiha Dan isn’t a good thing,” Hashirama muttered, his worry deepening. He feared Tsunade was being used and would eventually be drained dry.
Suddenly—
Boom.
A violent tremor from the direction of the Naka Shrine was followed by a massive plume of white steam rising into the sky above Konoha.
Something’s wrong, Tobirama’s fighting?
Seeing the steam, Hashirama’s face paled, realizing there was trouble.
Under the tree—
“What’s going on?” Marissa leapt up, climbed a tree to look, and called down, “It’s the shrine. Something’s happened there.”
“Dan,” Samui looked worriedly at her husband.
“Don’t panic. We just have two guests in the village. I sent Tekka and Chisaki to deal with the one at the shrine,” Dan patted Samui’s shoulder and stood up, “As for the other one, he’s right here.”
Hmm?
Tsunade’s eyes widened in surprise, glancing around, “Who? Where?”
Not good.
Have I been discovered?
Hashirama saw Tsunade’s reaction, realizing he had been spotted before he could figure out how he sensed imminent danger.
Swoosh.
In the blink of an eye, Uchiha Dan appeared in the forest, facing the tree where Hashirama was hiding.
Dan raised his fist and punched the tree trunk.
Crack!
The enormous tree, which would take seven or eight people to encircle, splintered under Dan’s punch, sending wooden debris flying everywhere.
Boom.
As the tree fell, a figure was forced out, shooting forward like a meteor towards Tsunade, Samui, and the others.
Die.
Tsunade’s eyes narrowed as she dashed forward, her fist wrapped in powerful chakra, ready to strike the incoming enemy.
No choice.
Hashirama, off-balance, unleashed a powerful blue-purple chakra from his body, countering Tsunade’s blow with his own punch.
Strength vs. strength.
Boom!
Their fists collided mid-air, like two colliding stars.
Crack.
Instantly, the ground beneath them sank, forming spider-web-like cracks spreading in all directions.
The violent shockwave centered around them, toppling the surrounding trees and flowers, making Samui and Yahiko struggle to stand.
Luckily, Dan stepped in, his towering frame shielding his wife and son from the shockwave.
Tsunade’s surprise grew.
This mysterious figure in a raincoat and hood had countered her blow despite being off-balance from Dan’s sneak attack.
Unbelievable.
“Who are you? Answer me!” she demanded, reaching to pull off his hood.
Tsunade, I’m sorry.
Hashirama thought. Revealing his identity under these circumstances wasn’t ideal for a family reunion.
Unwilling to fight, he leapt back, creating distance.
“Trying to escape?”
Tsunade pursued relentlessly, refusing to let the intruder go easily.
They soon clashed again.
“Mom, I’ll help you!” Marissa yelled, charging like a cannonball into the fray.
But a towering figure suddenly appeared in her path.
It was Dan.
Bang.
Unable to stop in time, Marissa collided with Dan’s back, seeing stars as she fell to the ground.
“Stop causing trouble. Protect your mother and brother. Leave the enemy to Tsunade,” Dan instructed calmly.
“What about you? Aren’t you going to help Mom?” Marissa asked, standing up despite the pain.
“Me? I’m just here to watch,” Dan replied nonchalantly, leaning against a tree, arms crossed, observing the fight.
Infuriating.
Marissa clenched her fists, glaring at her father. She reluctantly returned to Samui and Yahiko, ensuring their safety.
Training Ground No. 5.
Bang, bang, bang.
Tsunade and Hashirama exchanged powerful blows, each strike causing a heavy air explosion, enough to kill a Jonin.
“Dan, is Tsunade really okay?” Samui asked worriedly.
“Don’t worry, I’ll step in if necessary,” Dan reassured, holding Samui close, indicating she should relax.
Under his watch
ful eye, the pressure on Hashirama increased.
This can’t go on.
Hashirama knew the situation was against him.
Despite being reanimated and weaker than in life, he could still defeat Tsunade.
But he couldn’t bring himself to harm his granddaughter.
Distracted by Dan, Hashirama decided it was time to retreat and regroup.
He withdrew, using the recoil from another clash with Tsunade to create distance.
Then he pressed his palm to the ground, infusing it with his immense chakra.
This awakened dormant seeds deep underground.
The next moment.
Boom.
With a massive tremor, countless huge trees erupted from the ground, growing rapidly and covering the entire training ground.
The trees seemed alive, attacking Tsunade, Dan, and the others.
Wood Style: Deep Forest Emergence.
“Ora ora ora ora!” Marissa, with her Stand Star Platinum, smashed the approaching trees, protecting her mother and brother.
However, Tsunade faced ten times as many trees, quickly becoming entangled in the forest.
This jutsu…
Tsunade was shocked, shouting, “Who are you? Why do you use the Senju’s monstrous strength and my grandfather’s Wood Style?”
Deep Forest Emergence was a high-level Wood-style jutsu. Even those with transplanted Hashirama cells struggled to use it.
As Tsunade’s voice fell.
Swoosh.
Tobirama appeared, using the Flying Thunder God mark on Hashirama.
“Brother, what’s going on? Why are you fighting Tsunade? Wait, that man is…” Tobirama’s gaze scanned the scene, freezing as he recognized Dan.
Like Hashirama, Tobirama immediately sensed Dan’s immense danger, identifying him as the Sixth Hokage.
Boom.
Tsunade smashed through the trees. Seeing Tobirama’s blue armor and face, she was stunned, asking incredulously, “Are you… the Second Hokage? Great Uncle?!”
“Tobirama, you’ve exposed me.”
Hashirama sighed, realizing it was pointless to hide anymore.
With the attack stopped, the forest halted its assault on Tsunade and the others.
In Tsunade’s shocked gaze.
Hashirama slowly removed his hood, revealing a strong, resolute face, smiling warmly.
“Tsunade, long time no see. Tobirama and I have returned.”
