Yasuo himself didn’t have a good impression of S.H.I.E.L.D. This time, when someone stopped him, his temper flared up. How dare they stop the Wind Swordsman? Was this even reasonable? In the past, he tried to stay low-key to avoid trouble, but trouble kept coming his way. His neighbor Hanks and fanboy Stephen both died in front of him. Now, he was openly coming to collect his payment, yet they dared to stop him. Did they really think Yasuo had a good temper?
Yasuo’s essence isn’t just about going on a rampage. He needs to be able to withstand the attacks of five enemies while simultaneously arguing with his four teammates. That’s the true spirit of a qualified Yasuo. Dealing with a few agents was no pressure at all.
What is S.H.I.E.L.D. compared to the fact that Yasuo now has some serious connections? His girlfriend is a Level 9 agent, and she’s a famous S.H.I.E.L.D. official’s daughter!
“Who’s causing trouble in S.H.I.E.L.D.? Everyone move aside, let me see! You useless bunch!” An arrogant voice came from the staircase.
Another squad of agents came down from the upper floors for support. Yasuo glanced over, “Yo!” It was an old acquaintance, the infamous Crossbones. Looking at the fully equipped, synchronized team behind him, this must be the new ‘S.H.I.E.L.D. Quick Response Special Forces.’ Or you could just call them Hydra’s Special Forces!
During the last mission, the quick response team was wiped out, leaving only Crossbones alive. According to S.H.I.E.L.D. regulations, he should have been relieved of his captaincy to atone for his crimes. However, the quick response unit was Alexander Pierce’s ace in the hole. After a lot of effort from higher-ups, Crossbones retained his position as captain. The task of rebuilding the response team was handed over to him. After three months of effort, the new response team had just been formed. When Crossbones, who was training new recruits, heard that S.H.I.E.L.D. was under attack and that the agents on the first floor were about to collapse, he resolutely led his new team downstairs to teach the attackers a lesson!
As he pushed through the crowd and looked at the enemy facing off against the S.H.I.E.L.D. agents, the terrifying mask, the scarlet outfit, and the signature look all pointed to the enemy’s identity. He called himself ‘the Unforgiven Wind Swordsman,’ but those who didn’t know him better liked to call him ‘the Red-clad Psycho.’ Inside Hydra, they referred to him as ‘the Red Devil.’ No matter the nickname, they all represented his powerful abilities and terrifying battle record!
Crossbones knew all too well about his record: single-handedly slaughtering hundreds of terrifying vampire creatures, taking on thousands of mechanized troops in Sokovia, fending off Madame Hydra alone, and killing Hydra’s secret aces, Kebo and R. Giella, in one-on-one combat.
This psycho was truly unpredictable. Yesterday, he was helping S.H.I.E.L.D.; today, he was directly attacking them. Looking at the twenty or so agents rolling on the ground at his feet, his thinking was clearly not aligned with normal people. He was wild and unruly, doing whatever he pleased!
Crossbones noticed Yasuo looking at him and swallowed hard, forcing a very awkward smile as he tried to greet Yasuo.
Yasuo saw Crossbones and didn’t need to say anything; his already huge temper exploded. Hydra, I’ll just collect a little interest for Stephen.
A red afterimage remained in place as Yasuo quickly charged out. Crossbones bore the brunt of the attack, as Yasuo chained his Wind Technique Q (Steel Tempest) with the consecutive E (Sweeping Blade) skills. In just a breath, the newly arrived response team, except for Crossbones, was either down or writhing in pain!
The power-amplifying gloves that Crossbones wore shattered completely, and blood flowed down his arm to the floor. He never expected that Yasuo, whom he had only met once, would attack without hesitation. If it weren’t for the gloves absorbing the blow, his arm might have been useless!
Just as Yasuo was about to continue his attack, his girlfriend, Carter, came down to the first floor.
“Oh, my God! Yasuo, what are you doing? Stop it, everyone, stop it, put your guns down! This is a misunderstanding!” Seeing the hall full of agents lying on the ground like rolling gourds, Carter wondered when Yasuo would stop causing trouble!
When the agents saw Carter appear, it was as if they had found their backbone.
A few guys who seemed like minor leaders walked up to Carter, carefully detailing Yasuo’s crimes one by one, as if they wouldn’t be satisfied until Yasuo was eradicated! “Just look at his outfit; he must’ve escaped from a mental hospital!”
“Exactly, I’ve heard of him. His nickname is the Red-clad Psycho! He’s always wearing that outfit on the streets of New York!”
“He must be an old pervert who’s been single for decades and finally snapped from loneliness. Not having a woman can drive a man insane!”
“Please, if he had a woman, I’d run home naked from here!”
With a Level 9 agent backing them up, the agents relaxed and began mockingly taunting Yasuo!
They didn’t notice, though, that while they were mocking Yasuo, their supposedly strong backing, Level 9 agent Carter, was growing more and more furious!
By the time the agents had finished their mockery, Carter’s face had darkened completely. Yasuo, ignoring the looks of others, slowly walked toward Carter!
Just as everyone began to watch him warily, wondering what Yasuo was going to do, he said something that left everyone stunned!
“Wife, I didn’t expect you to come down here yourself. This is so embarrassing! I just wanted to talk to Agent May about some financial issues. After all, dating costs a lot, and I don’t want to be a kept man!”
When everyone heard this, including Crossbones, they all thought their hearing must have been failing. Did Yasuo just call Carter… wife?
“Don’t call me that!” Carter glared at Yasuo!
Hearing Carter’s response, the agents all glared angrily at Yasuo. Look at you, so shameless that even Agent Carter had to expose your lie. What else could you possibly say now?
But before Yasuo could respond, they heard Carter speak again: “We’re just dating; yes, I’m your girlfriend, but we’re not married yet. You need to understand that you can’t just casually call someone your wife. That kind of talk could make me think you’re about to do something next!”
These resentful words not only shocked the agents but also left Yasuo stunned. Was she teasing him with this tone? Or was she hinting that he should propose?
“Ahem!” Yasuo coughed to ease the awkwardness.
“Alright, everyone can disperse now. Take the injured for treatment. Everything today was just a misunderstanding!” Carter quickly resolved the situation with a couple of sentences and took Yasuo away. One had to admit, sometimes being a higher-up’s daughter really did come with some invincible privileges!
As Yasuo followed Carter, he kept glancing back at Crossbones. His terrifying mask made it impossible to read his expression, but the corner of his mouth moved slightly, as if he was saying something. However, no one heard because the sound was too low!
Crossbones knew that everything was over when Carter appeared. But even as things were wrapping up, he still couldn’t understand why Yasuo had attacked him. That was until he noticed Yasuo staring at him again. When their eyes met, Crossbones, who was proficient in lip reading, saw the shape of Yasuo’s mouth. It was clearly a word, one meant specifically for him!
Crossbones stood frozen, as if time had stopped. Cold sweat covered his body as he stared at Yasuo, his expression slowly changing to one of disbelief!
