Marvel’s Princess Chapter 17

Vampire

After the girls tentatively accepted Bella, the boys also showed interest.

No one is a fool—everyone likes a beautiful woman, but being ostracized by the entire community for one could be disastrous.

In short, they value their social connections more.

When social and personal relationships clash, personal preferences take a backseat.

For social relations, Professor X could part ways with his friend Magneto, and for the collective good, Storm could clash with her husband, Black Panther. Their personal feelings would yield to the so-called ‘greater good.’

The romantic saga of Thor and Storm can only arise between vampires and humans; such intense love is impossible between humans alone.

The boys’ attention allowed Bella to harvest another wave of psychic energy.

With a sincere attitude, she quickly made friends; anyone bullied at Fox High could invoke Bella’s mighty name. Those with bad attitudes or ulterior motives were noted separately and later handed to Jacob. A meeting in an alley with ‘the dogs released’ might follow!

Call the police? My dad is the sheriff. Try your luck.

Retaliate privately? Dare to insult Native Americans? Better check the Native American Protection Law!

Initially oblivious, but once people spent more time with her, Bella’s psychic energy subtly influenced those around her. Girls who interacted with her the most often couldn’t help but think, ‘She’s a great friend,’ or ‘Bella is so beautiful.’

The extent of this charm’s influence was subtle and lacked priority, gently improving relationships without infringing on personal interests.

Articulate, generous, beautiful, and her father being the only sheriff in town, Bella had completely turned things around in just two days.

After gradually revealing herself as the boss of Fox High, Bella selectively joined several clubs; not joining any wasn’t an option.

Despite being a small school of three hundred, there were over a dozen clubs to choose from. She joined a volleyball club, a Future Internet Development club, a rock climbing club, a Native American Culture Study group, and an opera club.

Sports, technology, and arts—she covered the central areas.

The opera club cast her as the lead in this year’s play, Snow White because she was fair-skinned, beautiful, and kind—like a princess straight out of a fairy tale!

Vampires are considered evil creatures in both Eastern and Western religious texts, with various origins and numerous methods described for their destruction.

You have your clever plans, and I have my ladders; humans have devised 108 ways to kill vampires, but with their long lifespans and vast resources, vampires are no fools and naturally find ways to counteract their weaknesses.

As humanity entered the modern age, the rapid development of genetics, biology, materials science, and chemistry boosted human technological advancements, benefiting vampires.

A small group of vampires, inspired by mutants, modified segments of their genes to create an entirely different XX-gene. They are still fundamentally vampires, but to some extent, they could also be considered a unique group of mutants.

These vampires still can’t tolerate bright light for long, and their strength, speed, and endurance decrease during the day, making them quite lethargic. However, they are virtually indistinguishable from ordinary humans on cloudy and stormy days.

With its perennial rainy weather, Forks is practically a paradise for vampires.

Because Bella arrived a month late, she didn’t meet the vampires during biology class. Still, the school is small, with just over three hundred students—avoiding someone entirely is nearly impossible.

On the third day, during history class, Bella finally met the vegetarian vampires, the three members of the Cullen family.

Emmett Cullen, with his large build and bulging muscles like a weightlifter.

Alice Cullen, with her delicate features and short, dark hair.

And Edward Cullen, a tall, thin young man with a piercing gaze and a rigid expression.

Bella had no plans to get involved with the vampires. The Cullen family’s vegetarian lifestyle was harmless to the town, and she had no intentions against them. She was just passing through high school for half a year before heading to college; to her, Forks was just a tutorial level.

She was perusing a manuscript she found in the school library, written by a missionary describing the Native American tribes that lived on this land two hundred years ago.

Bella struggled with the manuscript with slang, abbreviations, and religious references. “God doesn’t know me, and I don’t know God,” she thought. Was talking about religious allegories nonsense? She wrote down the unfamiliar terms, planning to search for them on her home computer.

Suddenly, she felt a strange sensation and turned around to meet the gaze of two pairs of eyes from behind.

The owners of the gaze were Edward Cullen, the thin, red-haired vampire, and Alice Cullen, the vampire woman with short, dark hair.

The large Emmett was slow to realize something had happened until Bella returned to her book. His face was wary, and he looked at his two companions questioningly.

“I can’t see her thoughts,” whispered Edward, the thin vampire.

“She appears as a mist in my perception,” Alice said, equally surprised.

The two exchanged looks, their expressions a mix of confusion and fear, like shepherds spotting a wolf among the sheep.

Emmett’s thoughts were more direct: “Is it against us?”

He didn’t finish his sentence before Alice, the dark-haired vampire woman, cut him off: “She might hear us.”

Bella turned around just in time, flashing a bright smile as if to say she could hear!

She didn’t deliberately avoid them for the next two days but didn’t provoke the somewhat panicky vampires, focusing instead on studying various ancient texts.

With extensive reading, her English improved dramatically; aside from some religious references, she no longer had much trouble reading.

However, her most significant gain was knowledge.

The psychic world provided psychic energy, a pure form of power, but how to use this energy was something she had to learn, master, and apply herself.

She was like a mage with mana but only a few spells.
