The Most Talented Pirate Hunter Chapter 55

Sticking to the Style, Going for the Kidney

“Bang!!!”

A powerful presence descended upon the scene.

Diamante arrived immediately, but it was already too late.

All the guards were annihilated in the shortest time possible.

“Hermes Yomongand, the Hunting King.”

A murderous look on his face.

Diamante stared at Hermes, who stood amidst the corpses. His appearance matched Jora and Lao G’s descriptions. Last time, this guy had fled pathetically from Doflamingo. Who would have thought he would come looking for death this time?

“It seems like Doffy is really not in Dressrosa.”

Hermes felt a bit disappointed, but the man in front of him would suffice.

Diamante, one of the top executives of the Donquixote Family, was just like Pica, Trebol, and Vergo, one of Doflamingo’s earliest followers.

Wearing a fringed hat, with two face marks, and a red cape, he looked like a native warrior, flamboyantly adorned.

He was also a Paramecia-type user, with the Flutter-Flutter Fruit, which could turn any object he touched into a cloth-like state without changing its material.

Currently, Diamante’s clothes and red cape were made of steel, which appeared soft and fluttery but were actually made of steel, providing extreme defense.

He was also a swordsman.

Not to be underestimated.

“Close your eyes and hold on tight.”

Seeing Diamante draw his long sword from his waist, Hermes twisted his neck and signaled Mansherry to hold on tight, so she wouldn’t be thrown off during the fight.

The Mini-Mini Fruit could not yet affect living beings, only external objects. Otherwise, he would have shrunk Mansherry to five millimeters and tucked her in his hair or ear, a truly mobile healing spring.

“Got it!”

Mansherry nervously gulped, her small body pressing closer and her hands gripping Hermes’s hair tightly as she closed her eyes.

She could only trust this human.

“Whoosh!!!”

The ground exploded.

Grass and dirt flew as Hermes vanished from his spot, instantly appearing before Diamante. His right leg, covered in Armament Haki, swung towards Diamante’s side, targeting the kidneys.

“Gallant Dragon Cape.”

Diamante raised his red cape, firmly blocking Hermes’s strike. His face, with those distinctive stripes, was filled with coldness. “Put down Mansherry and surrender.”

“Too much talk.”

Hermes frowned slightly. The cape was indeed made of steel, but it was also weaker than he expected. He disappeared and reappeared behind Diamante, thrusting a finger forward.

Diamante, with a serious expression, wrapped his cape around his back.

“Useless. My cape is no ordinary cape.”

Confidently.

Diamante’s sword began to soften, striking at Hermes like a venomous snake. Although it appeared soft, it had surprising strength and sharpness.

Hermes’s body tensed, striking a pose as he raised his wrist. Sparks flew as the sword struck, his defense equally formidable.

“Swish!!!”

Blocking the sword, Hermes thrust a finger towards Diamante’s eye. The opponent’s cape was hard, but his body was fragile.

Unlike Hermes, whose whole body was tough.

Diamante did not expect Hermes to counterattack so quickly, panicking slightly as he raised his cape to block again. Hermes didn’t relent, gathering immense power in a kick that landed squarely on Diamante’s kidney-protecting cape.

An explosion of power.

The cape visibly dented, pain etched across Diamante’s face as his legs sank into the ground and he slid back, his kidneys aching.

“Mini Thirty-Meter Crescent.”

Seizing the opportunity, Hermes delivered a powerful kick, sending a giant crescent-shaped white light slash roaring forth, destroying everything in its path with sheer force.

Damn it.

Diamante’s eyes widened in shock. Although his cape was hard enough, large-scale brute force attacks could rebound and harm him.

Small, focused attacks were acceptable.

Was this really Tempest Kick? It was on a completely different level than what he had seen before, more like a grand swordsman’s slash. It was unbelievably exaggerated.

“Gallant Dragon Cape.”

Diamante covered his cape with Armament Haki, bracing himself to block.

Upon impact, the immense force pushed him back. Before he could react, his face twisted in pain.

Booming and rumbling.

Another thirty-meter Tempest Kick followed, then a third, a fourth, a fifth…

Hermes had appeared in mid-air, stepping on the sky, and looking down at Diamante while continuing to kick.

One Tempest Kick after another rained down, all massive in size, ten meters, twenty meters, thirty meters.

The entire sky was illuminated with dazzling white light.

Had Diamante dodged the first strike instead of blocking it, he might not have lost the initiative and become trapped in a cycle of continuous attacks.

“Damn it.”

Three minutes passed.

The continuous barrage of giant Tempest Kicks kept hammering down on Diamante, the impact and damage multiplying.

Diamante’s cape was starting to crack. No matter how tough steel was, it couldn’t withstand such a pounding.

“There’s an enemy.”

“It’s Diamante!”

More guards appeared all members of the Donquixote Family, some with significant abilities. However, the leading executives, like Jora and Dellinger, were not present.

They had all been sent out to stir trouble and profit from the chaos.

They were extremely busy.

Only Diamante remained to guard the Royal Plateau.

“Shoot him down!”

Diamante, struggling to find a way out, was delighted to see these usually insignificant guards. If they could disrupt Hermes’s continuous attacks, he could escape.

Otherwise, he would be dead.

“Shoot! Shoot!”

Gunfire and rockets were fired at Hermes. Frowning, Hermes braced himself, entering Iron Body.

“Don’t worry, I’ll catch you.”

On Hermes’s shoulder, Mansherry’s face turned pale.

She had never seen such a spectacle.

“?”

Mansherry was confused, unsure of what Hermes meant.

The next moment, she lost her balance.

Mansherry screamed instinctively as Hermes tossed her into the air. She soared like an arrow, quickly piercing through a small cloud.

Releasing Mansherry, Hermes spread his hands towards the ground.

“Gatling.”

“Whoosh whoosh whoosh!!!”

A barrage of flying Finger Pistols shot down, causing screams as guards fell. Simultaneously, bullets and rockets struck Hermes, creating smoke clouds, which were quickly dispersed by Tempest Kicks or Finger Pistols.

At that moment.

Hermes was simultaneously using Tempest Kick, Iron Body, and Finger Pistol, overwhelmingly suppressing Diamante and the guards. This state was incredibly powerful, combining offense and defense.

But it drained his stamina quickly.

More importantly, his mastery of the Six Powers was becoming smoother. Awakening Life Return was within reach, signaling a proper ascent.

He could also unlock the ultimate move, King’s Fist. Once unlocked, facing Diamante again, he could send him flying with a single punch. If one punch weren’t enough, two would do.

As for how he managed to use his hands and feet simultaneously, it was a result of talent and rigorous training.

“Ahhhh!”

On the ground.

Screams echoed as Hermes took down the majority of the guards. Without Iron Body, those hit by Finger Pistols were either crippled or dead.

The Tempest Kicks hadn’t stopped either.

Diamante’s cape began to crumble. He had to cover his sword with Armament Haki to block, his face pale, blood continuously dripping from his mouth.

Frustration.

Endless frustration, that’s what Diamante felt.
