“Seastone? How is that possible? I haven’t lost my stamina at all…” Adekin said instinctively, then suddenly froze. “My abilities aren’t working, but why do I still have my stamina?”
Several other Devil Fruit users among the Navy and royal members voiced their concerns as he spoke: “This isn’t good; my powers aren’t working either!”
“Heh heh! That’s the peculiar effect of Seastone powder. It doesn’t make Devil Fruit users lose their stamina along with their abilities like regular Seastone does,” Felix said smugly, his voice coming from behind a mask designed to prevent inhaling the Seastone dust.
“But for those who rely on their Devil Fruit powers, what use is their remaining stamina once their abilities are gone? This characteristic makes the powder even more discreet in its effectiveness.”
“I’m quite surprised, though. Seastone is harder than diamond. How does the Kingdom of Alabasta have the technology to grind it into powder?” Felix mused.
“That’s where you’re wrong. Our kingdom doesn’t have such technology. This powder is a treasure passed down through our royal lineage,” the King of Alabasta said, glaring at Felix with intense hatred.
“Whatever. All I need is your stockpile of Seastone powder. With this treasure, I’ll have a trump card to overturn any battle, even against those monstrous foes in the New World,” Felix replied nonchalantly.
Rougishuthought to himself, “The memories from that other world mentioned that Wano Country is the place with the top Seastone processing techniques in the world. They can make intricate items like nails from Seastone, and the Kozuki Clan can inscribe the indestructible Poneglyphs.”
“Considering the ancient Nefertari family’s connection to the Twenty Kings and the Poneglyph in the royal tomb, perhaps this Seastone powder was a gift from the Kozuki Clan to the Nefertari family.”
The atmosphere in the hall grew heavy. Felix continued, “I originally didn’t want to confront the Navy directly, but you forced my hand by ruining my slave trade and killing all my subordinates. You’ve made Felix the Night Arbiter a laughingstock in this sea. Tell me, how should I deal with you arrogant Navy officers?”
“Hang them! Hang them all!” the pirates behind Felix cheered.
“I have an idea. They ruined my slave trade, so why not make them taste what it’s like to be slaves? Turning these high-and-mighty royals and Navy officers into lowly slaves—what could be more thrilling?” Felix suggested.
The Navy and the royal members from the three kingdoms turned pale. Becoming a slave was a fate worse than death for them.
King Azka also screamed, “Captain Felix, you can’t let them live! If they expose what happened tonight, I’m finished!”
“Are you telling me how to do my job?” Felix replied, his tone turning hostile.
“No… that’s not what I meant…”
“Ha ha ha! You didn’t expect karma to come so quickly, did you? I told you these despicable pirates…” The King of Alabasta laughed hysterically, but then Felix glanced at him, and his body exploded like a bomb, torn apart and spraying blood everywhere.
“Ah! Someone’s dead!”
Even though the situation in the hall was tense, no one had died, giving a false sense of peace. The King of Alabasta’s horrific death shattered that illusion, causing panic and chaos, and the smell of blood filled the hall.
“Father! Father…” Cobra murmured in a daze, then glared at Felix with bloodshot eyes, “You damn pirate, I’ll kill you!”
The nobles of Alabasta quickly restrained Cobra, “Your Highness, don’t be impulsive. The enemy is a powerful pirate we can’t defeat. If you rush in, who will save Alabasta?”
Felix glanced dismissively at Cobra, saying, “The barking of a defeated dog!”
“So, this is your power? Fear?” Rougishuasked, standing up.
Felix was momentarily stunned, then narrowed his eyes, “You’re the Navy officer who ruined my slave trade? You’ve got guts to stand before me…”
“Are you trying to change the subject?” Rougishuasked, a gentle smile on his face.
Felix’s eyes narrowed further. “I don’t know what you’re talking about. As the Night Arbiter, my power amplifies at night. Every word and every look from me can become a deadly command. Do you want to taste death now?”
“I’m not feeling any fear right now. Are you sure you want to test it? If your invincible image is shattered, it’s a small matter. But if the seeds of fear you’ve planted are destroyed, all your efforts will be in vain,” Rougishusaid said calmly.
Felix took a deep breath and remained silent.
Rougishucontinued, “You’ve been building a powerful, mysterious image from the start—or perhaps since you first set sail—never showing your face in the daylight. Mentioning the slave auction and killing with a glance was to amplify…”
“Enough! Shut up!” Felix roared, unleashing his power to the fullest. However, Rougishuremained unaffected, standing calmly.
“How is this possible? Everyone has fears—fear of power, fear of failure, fear of death. Why do you have no fear at all?” Felix screamed in disbelief. He had made the King of Alabasta explode from his fear of losing power, but he couldn’t sense any fear from this Navy officer. Was he even human?
The hall buzzed with astonishment.
“So it’s true his power is related to fear. Major Rougishutruly lives up to his title, remaining perfectly calm in this situation!”
“Are you kidding me? As long as there’s fear, you die? That power is unbeatable! I can’t be as fearless as Major Longinus. Am I going to die?”
“Idiot! Such a power must have terrifying limitations or costs. Felix wouldn’t waste it on small fry like you.”
“No fear at all. This is what it means to be a true Navy officer.”
“A power similar to that of Big Mom?” Rougishupondered, stepping closer to Felix. “Fear exists because of the fear of losing. But I never believe I will lose. Standing as the victor… I will never lose.”
