One must be extremely cautious when it comes to the Uchiha clan and their Sharingan.
The Uchiha’s Sharingan contains many bizarre forbidden techniques, such as Izanagi and Izanami, which are nearly impossible to guard against if one is unaware of their workings.
Given that Danzo had transplanted the First Hokage’s cells and numerous Sharingan, he likely had also mastered some of the Uchiha’s forbidden techniques.
Engaging Danzo in a confrontation at this point was too risky.
Orochimaru was a prime example. Despite being a bona fide Kage-level shinobi, he had been easily subdued by Itachi’s Sharingan in two encounters. This served as a cautionary lesson for Hyuga Kyo.
Back home, Hyuga Kyo collected his thoughts and delved into the Four Symbols Seal.
Enhancing his strength was his top priority. All other plans served this goal, a hierarchy he had always been clear about.
At present, he has technically learned the Four Symbols Seal.
However, this “learned” meant he could barely use it. He still had a long way to go in understanding the seal’s operational principles and deeper applications, necessitating further research.
The Four Symbols Seal was a gateway to the Uzumaki clan’s vast knowledge of sealing techniques.
Mastering the Uzumaki clan’s sealing techniques would allow him to break the Fourth Hokage’s seal on the Dragon Vein, completing the most crucial step in his artificial-tailed beast plan.
After studying for a while, Hyuga Kyo documented his insights.
Reviewing his notes, he thought, “With the merit Team Eleven has earned this time, it should be no problem to exchange for another sealing technique.”
He estimated it would take a week to master the Four Symbols Seal fully.
Once mastered, if he could learn one or two more of the Uzumaki clan’s sealing techniques, he would be confident in using his Tenseigan to unlock their secrets.
Given Team Eleven’s recent achievements, he believed exchanging for another sealing technique should be more than feasible.
The next morning, Hyuga Kyo set out.
On his way, he heard villagers discussing the village’s peace talks with Kumogakure.
Understandably, the village’s ninjas were furious about Kumogakure’s sudden attack, and with hundreds of Konoha ninjas dead, nearly every clan was in mourning. Consequently, many were disgruntled about the peace talks.
Most could understand the Third Hokage’s reasons for agreeing to peace.
But being blindsided and shaking hands in peace was hard to swallow for the shinobi of the world’s strongest village.
Hyuga Kyo, however, felt little emotion about it.
Konoha was no longer the all-powerful village it was under the First Hokage. In the shinobi world, even the greatest humiliations had to be endured if one’s strength was insufficient.
Moreover, this was only the beginning. The village’s troubles were far from over.
Upon arriving at the rendezvous point, Hyuga Kyo waited quietly.
Soon, a figure landed in front of him—it was Uchiha Shisui.
Shisui, looking apologetic, said, “Sorry to keep you waiting, senpai.”
“No worries, I just got here,” Hyuga Kyo said, waving it off. “I called you here today because there’s something very important I need to tell you.”
“What is it?”
After activating his Byakugan to ensure they were alone, Hyuga Kyo whispered, “I saw Danzo yesterday and discovered a secret about him.”
Shisui was shocked, “What? You saw Danzo yesterday too?”
Hyuga Kyo’s brows furrowed slightly, a bad premonition rising within him. “You met him yesterday as well?”
Shisui nodded, “Yes, Danzo invited me to join Root, but I refused. Did he invite you too, senpai?”
Hyuga Kyo hurriedly asked, “You didn’t reveal your Mangekyo Sharingan to him, did you?”
Shisui nodded, “We discussed the tensions between the Uchiha and the village. To reassure him, I confessed my Mangekyo Sharingan to both Danzo and the Third Hokage, promising to prevent any extreme actions by my clan.”
Hyuga Kyo’s face darkened, “Foolish!”
Shisui looked puzzled, “What do you mean?”
“Do you know what I was going to tell you today?” Hyuga Kyo paused before continuing, “I discovered with my Byakugan that Danzo has already transplanted the First Hokage’s cells and numerous Sharingan. He’s completely modified his body!”
“What!?”
Shisui was stunned.
Hyuga Kyo glanced at him and said, “That old fox has been coveting the Sharingan for a long time, and now you’ve handed him the knowledge of your Mangekyo Sharingan. It’s like throwing a lamb to a wolf.”
Hyuga Kyo had planned to inform Shisui about Danzo’s intentions and then induce Shisui to use Kotoamatsukami on Danzo, eliminating him once and for all.
He didn’t expect Danzo to move so quickly, contacting him and Shisui on the same day.
He hadn’t anticipated Shisui revealing his Mangekyo Sharingan to Danzo and the Third Hokage.
Of course, Hyuga Kyo was unaware of the pressure Shisui faced during the Uchiha clan meeting the previous day, where some clan members openly advocated for a coup. This was what drove Shisui to confess to the village leaders.
After a long silence, Shisui muttered, “Senpai, did I make a mistake?”
Hyuga Kyo asked, “Besides Susanoo, your Mangekyo Sharingan has other abilities, right?”
Shisui hesitantly replied, “Yes, my Mangekyo Sharingan can cast a genjutsu called Kotoamatsukami, which can manipulate someone’s will without their awareness.”
“Did you tell Danzo and the Third Hokage about this?”
Shisui nodded, “Yes, I planned to use Kotoamatsukami to prevent the clan’s coup, so I didn’t hide it from them.”
Hyuga Kyo said, “You might stop the Uchiha from rebelling, but can you stop Danzo from targeting the Uchiha? At this point, the village leaders won’t trust you anymore. In private, Danzo probably won’t meet you again.”
Shisui seemed to realize something, looking incredulous.
Hyuga Kyo warned, “Remember, if Danzo asks to meet you privately, there’s only one possibility—he’s going to act against you! But whether he survives that long is another matter…”
