“Let go of me!”
After struggling for about ten minutes, Lao G couldn’t take it anymore. He pinned Baby-5 to the ground with one hand and used her maid outfit belt to tie her hands and feet together.
Finally, he threw her aside, breathing heavily.
“I’m needed.”
“I’m needed.”
Baby-5’s face was flushed, her eyes dazed with delight.
“Stay put and behave!”
“You’re such a burden.”
Lao G stood up, looking down at Baby-5 with a gaze full of anger and frustration.
His words brought Baby-5 back to her senses. She buried her face in the ground, hiding her expression. Lao G opened his mouth to say something but ultimately held back.
He knew Baby-5’s background. She came from an impoverished family and was abandoned by her parents who saw her as a burden, a useless mouth to feed. This left Baby-5 with a deep psychological scar, making her crave being needed, to the point where she couldn’t control herself.
This flaw led her to accumulate a huge debt. Most people would have discarded Baby-5 long ago because she was too easily swayed and unpredictable, like a ticking time bomb.
But Doflamingo tolerated her. This was why all members of the Donquixote Family were fiercely loyal to Doflamingo because each of them had their own tragic backstory, including Doflamingo himself.
Doflamingo had given them hope and warmth, and thus they followed him with unwavering devotion.
“Despicable bastard.”
“Diable Jambe.”
Lao G turned, channeling all his anger towards Hermes, his killing intent barely restrained.
He struck a “G” pose with his hands and charged at Hermes at top speed, aiming deadly strikes at his eyes and kidneys.
This move had clearly been honed in countless battles and enhanced with Armament Haki.
Hermes didn’t back down. He clenched his fists, also covered in Armament Haki, meeting Lao G head-on. The resulting impact generated a massive shockwave, causing the buildings around them to collapse.
Debris and rubble flew everywhere as the two figures disappeared and reappeared on the street. Lao G thrust his knee up while Hermes countered with an elbow strike. Their eyes met, both filled with excitement.
“Seimei Kikan: Gyoi.”
Lao G roared, launching a series of rapid strikes aimed at Hermes’ eyes, internal organs, waist, and other vital points and joints.
His movements were so fast that they appeared as afterimages.
“Paper Art: Ultra Instinct.”
Hermes exhaled softly, relinquishing control over his body, and entering a state of spiritual emptiness where he could sense the shape of the wind.
He didn’t even use Observation Haki.
As Lao G’s attacks continued, Hermes evaded each one with precise, fluid movements, creating an impression of extraordinary smoothness and peculiarity.
Boom, boom, boom!!!
The fierce battle winds tore through the surroundings, cracking the ground. Lao G roared like a beast, his entire body a weapon. But no matter how he attacked, Hermes remained unscathed, as if merely a breeze brushing past a hill.
After another powerful blow, Lao G pulled back, his expression more serious than ever.
What’s going on?
Even with Observation Haki, it shouldn’t be possible to dodge all of his rapid attacks. In just five minutes, he had launched over a thousand strikes.
Yet, he hadn’t even grazed Hermes’ skin, only his clothing.
“Whew!”
Regaining control of his body, Hermes felt heaviness and fatigue. This zero-error close combat evasion was extremely draining on his body.
Every muscle, and every cell seemed to be operating at high speed.
To reduce this burden, he needed to master Seimei Kikan. Whether it was King’s Punch, Paper Art: Ultra Instinct, or other abilities, they all required Seimei Kikan.
In the past three years, Hermes had thoroughly studied the Six Powers.
Each technique had a clear training direction. Paper art was modeled after Ultra Instinct from Dragon Ball, relying on reflexive movements without conscious thought to maximize speed and reaction.
It allowed the body to sense danger independently of the mind, acting faster than thought.
If fully developed, this ability would make close combat evasion nearly unbeatable.
Currently, Hermes’ mastery of Paper Art: Ultra Instinct was still imitative. To surpass it would require much more effort. However, the recent performance has shown its potential.
It was powerful, but also incredibly demanding on the body.
“No wonder you dared to challenge the Donquixote Family; you do have some skill.”
“But you’ve messed with the wrong people.”
Lao G sneered, his muscles bulging as he gathered his strength. He planned to end this quickly by killing Hermes outright.
Hermes didn’t respond, just beckoned with a dismissive gesture.
It was a clear sign of disdain.
“Diable Jambe: Ultimate Secret Technique: Full Power Fist.”
Calling out his ultimate move, Lao G prepared to defeat everything in his path.
This technique was the pinnacle of Diable Jambe, a martial art designed for Lao G to store the power from his youth within his body, allowing him to unleash it even when injured or aging.
When using this move, his size and muscle mass increased severalfold, and his strength and skills returned to their peak.
The downside was that it couldn’t last long; prolonged use would return him to his normal state.
At this moment, Lao G resembled a Saint Seiya, radiating heat and steam. He exploded forward, aiming a punch at Hermes’ abdomen.
Hermes didn’t take it lightly, covering the area with Observation Haki.
Boom, boom, boom!!!
A shockwave tore through the ground, ripping through several buildings and leaving a trench twenty meters long and eight meters wide.
Lao G frowned, something felt off.
Indeed.
The man before him began to fade and disappear—it was an afterimage.
“Not good.”
Lao G’s scalp tingled.
A powerful wind struck his face. Before he knew it, Hermes was beside him, swinging a leg covered in Armament Haki.
“G Stamp.”
Lao G reacted quickly, countering with his most decisive move. A violent clash of energy ensued, shattering the ground within a ten-meter radius.
“Tekkai.”
Hermes’ right leg stiffened, utilizing Tekkai.
Lao G grunted, his attack deflected back at him. He was sent flying like a cannonball, smashing through buildings and causing massive explosions before being buried in rubble.
Hermes landed, looking at his right calf. There was a G-shaped imprint despite the dual protection of Armament Haki and Tekkai. Lao G was indeed formidable.
“Mini Ten-Meter Crescent Moon.”
Hermes kicked towards the smoky rubble, unleashing a one-meter-high Rankyaku that expanded to ten meters, cutting through the debris and dust.
However, Lao G was nowhere to be seen.
Using Observation Haki to scan the area, Hermes tilted his head just in time to avoid a pebble that flew with the force of a bullet, piercing through a building like tofu.
Lao G emerged from the side, hands forming a G pose, radiating blinding light.
